But Golden Boy kind of did leave HBO. They had all their fights on Showtime even before HBO gave them the boot. Only guys that were still fighting on HBO were B-Hop and Broner because of previous contract. So they screwed themselves. They could have had dates on HBO and SHO, while Top Rank would be HBO only.

Yes, I do agree that Golden Boy screwed themselves. But they didn't just walk away from HBO. A lot of their fights were ending up on HBO because Golden Boy was pitting Showtime and HBO against one another. So basically bidding wars, and each time Showtime would outbid HBO. HBO smartened up and realized, they were just being used more or less and decided to take themselves out the picture altogether.

Floyd didn't just leave to Showtime... there was a bidding war between HBO and Showtime. And once again, Showtime outbid them.

Not at all I'm just intelligent enough to not be divisive, I'm very happy for them and what they've accomplished and I'm not gonna be talking slick in a divisive way. They're strong together and they should stay together but to the consumer if you take Lil Wayne, Nicki and Drake out it would cause major damage to the brand :-)

So now you are saying Golden Boy is controlling Showtime? And Golden Boy is telling Showtime what it can or cannot do?

It is nothing about controlling, but it is all about a 2-way dependency. If Showtime decided to let Top Rank on their Airwaves now, Golden Boy would very quickly threaten to jump ship and run to HBO claiming how much they love them.

What in the world do you think caused this Cold War in the first place? It was all about the top promotional houses trying to force the networks for Dates. Go back in time, from about 2005 on, and look at some of the things that were taking place. Look how the networks (especially HBO) were being pressured by GBP and Top Rank. The struggle was going on for a long time.
