    1. the win-loss record of his opponets was 203-213..
    2. of these fighters 11 made their pro debut against
    chavez.
3.of the opponents in his 1st. 44 fights only 10 had
wining records and i was generous i just counted if they
    had more wins than losses..
    4. 26 of his 1st. 44 opponents had 6 fights or less prior
    to facing chavez..
i am sorry but the numbers do not lie if this is not padding your record i don't know what is.. this should answer your question on weather he fought bums thru his 1st. 40 plus fights ..remember i only did his 1st. 44 fights, he fought guys with horrible records after this here are some examples :

    1. in his 51st. fight his opponent was roberto lindo record
who had a record of 1-12..
    2. in his 67 th. fight his opponent was ramon aramburu who
    had a record of 0-0.
    3. in his 79th. fight his opponent was ignacio pedromo who
    had a record of 1-0...
these 3 examples above took place when he was allready established with atleast 50 fights and was allready a world champion what would people say if tito or dlh at 32 or 34 fights fought a guy with 0-0 or 0-1 record ????.. so why should chavez be excempt??....like i said in my opening i think chavez was a great fighter and a hof had some great fights and was a warrior.. i just explained why chavez record is padded now you or anyone else tell me why it is not ??
** You should sue your Mommy for beating you with the dumb stick.

Boxrec is a fine website, but admits they don't have comprehensive records for many fighters outside the US, and in fact don't have all the records for many fighters in the US from the earlier days in boxing.

When you go look at records, often there will be a series of records as 0-0, or 0-1, or 1-0, when in fact some of these fighters may have had 10-40 unrecorded bouts. These places don't even have commissions.

Just ONE of his latter day oponents has a record of 178-13-2, so obviously your win/loss figures are as dumbed up as you are.

Terrence Ali, Greg Haugen, Taylor was undefeated and wunderkind of his day when Chavez ran over him with a truck and ruined his career, Angel Hernandez was undefeated,

Mayweather, Camacho, Rosario and Ramirez are HOF fighters.

How many HOF fighters has Floyd beat? Ans: ONE, Castillo, and most think Castillo whupped Floyd's pants off in the first fight.

It's really funny to see you blow smoke under Pretty Grrrls skirt. Like him, you boys got a mental problem. You think you're the best, but you're dumber than box of rocks and too dumb to know it!

The point is, when it was high time he fought elites, he got himself beat. And beat bad he did.

We are not hating dude. That's different from presenting arguments. Hating is when you call a person a chicken and yet you don't present arguments to back it up.

I don't hate Chavez but the fact is, he got his bloated record fighting bums. And we all know what we call a fighter who fights bums on a constant basis. A bum himself.

When it was high time to deliver against elites, he got beat. The rationale is really simple if you take a look at it. An elite beats other elites in convincing fashion. Not lose to them.

OK good point! But answer me this, Did you actually see these fights with your own eyeballs???? and some of these fights with these so call cab drivers were some good wars!! all "cab drivers" know how to do is come straight foward and brawl and would make pretty good fights in mexico. You have to uderstand that if chavez would of been fighting cab drivers all his carrer and they wernt good fights for the fans then he wouldnt have all this respect that he has. Mexican people could be harsh they dont want to see their boxers playing cat and mouse they want to see some brawls.

              I see your point also.

When I still in HS, I first saw Chavez with this "great record of like over 50 wins and mostly by KO. And I said to myself, this is one heck of a boxer. But after seeing his fights against elites. The contrary opinion holds ground.

Forget age, forger the excuse that he was washed up, that he was already diminished by the time he fought elites. But the fact is, an elite finds a way to beat other elites. The difference between an elite and a non-elite is skill coupled with determination.

Losing to elites is not a good way of gaining a good reputation as an elite yourself. It's not debatable. Recognition is given to the top fighter. I concede that Chavez is a shoo-in to the HOF, but to bloat up his reputation into something which he isn't is not good.

i'm pretty sure you didnt see all of his fights after his 50th fight but you have to remember he cleaned up all the divisions he was in and allways tried to unify the titles so what else do you want! and what elites are you talking about De la hoya and kotszy? he was way pass his prime back then. The taylor fight I could agree but then he got him in the rematch the randal's fight were both pretty close and the whitaker I could agree also but look at the way he fought him whitaker fought chavez like they were in the Olympics, He wanted the W and run out the building wit it. you know what I mean?
