i agree with you. nowadays boxers are not as complete as the "real" all time greats.

          greg haugen

I feel sorry for you, because you don't appreciate great fighters liek duran and chavez.

lol, its funny how these idiot's say Chavez's record is padded. Chavez's first 43 victorys were won in only 4 ****en years. No one even knew who Chavez was intill he beat Mario Martinez. If those 43 victorys were from nothing but bums, then why in the hell did Chavez get soo ****en good? Someone please answer that for me. You Chavez haters most of forgot that Chavez was the most active fighter of his time. Whoever thought Taylor should have gotten the first victory is a dumbass. Chavez clearly knockedout Taylor in the amount of time he was giving. Don't tell me one of you would have let him go on with the fight after looking at him all messed up. I bet if the stoppage was in the 11th none of you would have disagreed with the stoppage, but since it was in the 12th with about 2 seconds left you guys thought the stoppage was bull****........ Chavez knocked him out within the amount he was given to. It would have been injustice to Chavez if they let Taylor go on only because there was 2 seconds left.

This is why I rate Salvador Sanchez as the greater Mexican fighter than JCC.

chavez was a great fighter and an icon in mexico and of the sport... but the fact is his record is padded he fought a taxi driver and a garbage man ...i went to boxrec and added up some numbers of chavez thru his 1st. 44 fights and this what i came up with :

                  1. the win-loss record of his opponets was 203-213..
                  2. of these fighters 11 made their pro debut against
                  chavez.
3.of the opponents in his 1st. 44 fights only 10 had
wining records and i was generous i just counted if they
                  had more wins than losses..
                  4. 26 of his 1st. 44 opponents had 6 fights or less prior
                  to facing chavez..
i am sorry but the numbers do not lie if this is not padding your record i don't know what is.. this should answer your question on weather he fought bums thru his 1st. 40 plus fights ..remember i only did his 1st. 44 fights, he fought guys with horrible records after this here are some examples :

                  1. in his 51st. fight his opponent was roberto lindo record
who had a record of 1-12..
                  2. in his 67 th. fight his opponent was ramon aramburu who
                  had a record of 0-0.
                  3. in his 79th. fight his opponent was ignacio pedromo who
                  had a record of 1-0...
these 3 examples above took place when he was allready established with atleast 50 fights and was allready a world champion what would people say if tito or dlh at 32 or 34 fights fought a guy with 0-0 or 0-1 record ????.. so why should chavez be excempt??....like i said in my opening i think chavez was a great fighter and a hof had some great fights and was a warrior.. i just explained why chavez record is padded now you or anyone else tell me why it is not ??

News about boxrec... its not 100% complete

1-0, 0-1 and the like dont mean that the fighters actually have such small records... it means they didnt input any previous fights before that.

an example can be seen in SRR record with fighters with 0-0, 1-0s 0-1s dont mean those guys actually had such little experience. It simply means they were unknown till they fought the famous guy.. and if they lost and never made another big appearance thats where they ended.

You would especially get such if u had gotten pro experience in a country other than the U.S.
