Boxing should come 1st not $$$ or safety

So for all those so called "boxing fans" who think that a boxer's bank account and safety is more important then the best fighting the best please go and do us all a favour and watch a safe sport like golf.

A true boxing fan should want the best fights imo, I see too many posters on this forum saying that boxing is a business first so fighters should be trying to earn money instead of fighting the best fights out there.

Boxing is a combat sport, it isnt meant to be safe.

Stop it my man. The best fights are not determined until after the fight is over, any real boxing fan knows this. Boxing fans care not just about the fights, but the well being of the men who fight.

Your initial thread comment had nothing to do with the best fighting the best. It was one of those comments made by someone who thinks boxing is supposed to be 2 guys killing each other for your enjoyment. Thats why you have gotten so much backlash and are desperately trying to change the narrative.

The reason you are not getting every fight that you want is because of the networks, not the fighters. WHen those fights dont happen, be a real fan and enjoy the truly good fights you get.

This weekend, shawn porter elevated himself into the discussion of big ww fights. Bhop brought us a step closer to unifying the LHW championship. A real fan would be discussing these things rather than complaining about 1 or 2 fights that could've happened.

Yes I know that a lot of the best fights can be unexpected but I would also like to see the best match ups been made as well.

I think he wants to insult Mayweather and went about it in an illogical manner.
the only person he could be talking about is May fighting Pac and that I guess Pac is the best, (while i understand the argument, you cant be considered the best when youre .500 in your last 4 fights) just stick with the traditional insults. Although your money shouldnt matter argument works against you, cause Pac turned down the last fight......OVER MONEY!

As a fan I want the best fights to be made possible..As an adult and as a fan of the sport,I understand that,that is not always an option..There are things that get in the way..Money being the biggest thing..Boxing(like any other sport)is a business...I love Baseball Football,and sometimes they have strikes,why cause of money..Should I say who gives a damn about the players who are lobbing for more money or better overall benefits??No you can not,as fans we lose site that this is these guy's professions..Not a hobby..

The way your looking at it is as if this is these fighters hobby..It's not,boxing unlike so many other sports is based on moves you make..One wrong move and your career could be really derailed..Which in short means money lost..Again,this is a business..It's a part of the sport,you may not like it..That's cool..You better understand it,and this kinda outlook won't help in that regard..

I understand the money and politics and all I am saying is that as fans we shouldnt be happy with this.

Some people here even defend it like its the best way imaginable to run the sport.

I look upon them as pro athletes who should be going against the best opponents out there.

When teams in the NBA, NFL, NRL, AFL etc make it to the championship match they actually have to play and beat the best.

In the UFC they have to fight the best guy in the division to defend or get the championship belt.

My man, we both know what you were discussing in your initial post. Don't try and spin it now.

You are entitled to feel however you want. I just find your opinion to be immature. Like I said, become a pro and then you'll see.

If you know anything abut the sport you know that more often than not you have to wait for the best matchups to happen. Check when Hearns beat Cuevas and when he fought SRL, Benitez. Then DUran and Hagler. SRL beat Benitez in 79 and Hagler in 87.

Your thread is just exteremely naive. The biggest fight possible didn't happen and its going on 4 years. Check the timeline from SRL's "retirement ceremony" to the day he fought Hagler. See my point?

Note that Bob Arum is involved in both then ask yourself if its about money or the best fighting the best when fans want it.
