How can you possibly look at the hand speed in the Ortiz fight then again at the Guererro fight and not see how much slower his hands are?

I can see the feet, solely because he decided to move a lot more as opposed to standing flat footed like he did against Ortiz because of the period of his career he was going through.

That said, he's clearly slower in foot aswell.
Maybe early in the Guerrero fight, could that be rust???

But his hand speed wasn't much different to me, I don't know. We can agree to disagree man. We usually agree, it's natural to disagree sometimes.

The difference in his physical tools between now and then.

3 years definitely a long time especially when you're 34 and now 37. I'm not surprised at all by the slip it's completely natural and let's face it whilst he's obviously declined and in decline he's still very fast and sharp just no where near what he was at the start of the decade.
Wtf??/ he looked faster against Canelo than he did against Victor.

I just can't fathom how anyone can have this view. It's so obviously clear this isn't the case.

The dominating performances seem to be blinding people, much like IMDAZED's example of Jones-Ruiz. Same thing then.

Floyd is an emotionally hurt man.

Seeing Maidana story was cool. Country getting behind that man

Mayweather might have been over training which might have hindered his movement, Sr. brought that up and he was more in control of letting Mayweather know when he was over doing it. Now that he's able to move around more comfortably it allows him to loosen up, I saw noticeable increase in his hand speed and of course much better footwork. I watched the Guerrero fight live and that's one of the many things that stuck out to me and everyone else I watched it with. I know it ain't Mayweather-Judah, Hatton or Baldomir but it's a lot better than what I saw against Mosley, Ortiz.

Then the first two rounds of the Guerrero fight, he looked like crap IMO. Perhaps it was ring rust, because he was elusive and moved around quicker with his legs then he had in a minute the rest of the fight.

I totally agree. I think he was more athletic 3 years ago in terms of hands speed, defensive reflexes, and overall sharpness, but there's a night and day difference with his foot speed now compared to then. He fought very flat-footed against Mosley and Ortiz, especially in the Mosley fight where he looked like his feet were stuck on cement or something, but that was all because of the way he trained at the time. His father advise him to use the jab more and fight on back foot a bit, whereas, Roger encouraged him to sat more on his punches and stood his ground. This is why his father's style is the style that suit him better if he plans on finishing his contract undefeated.

He was much more active against Ortiz. It's always easy to look like your still fast when you're barely throwing and even then, he looked slower to me. Against Guerrero he was forced to move a lot, mainly because he couldn't sustain an activity level that would force Robert to back down. I think it's possible that he may have overtrained as you suggest but it could be just age.

Episode was whack as f**k. B-Hop is right, Floyd makes himself look like such a insecure douche. Par for the course doe and people are right -- why would we expect anything else out of these episodes.

Maybe his hands were faster, but his reflexes looked sheit against Ortiz, maybe he didn't take him as seriously as his other opponents
