I mean Maidana has a title, and is coming off three decent/solid wins at the weight......and is a cherry picked bum to some of these clowns on here.

I do feel Floyd will beat Maidana handily by decision. But I think Maidana will do better then Guerrero or Canelo did.

Canelo tried to box Floyd at times, which is why he only won maybe 1 round or none at all. And Guerrero actually smothered his own attack against Floyd it seemed, tried to "box" at times, and won 2 rounds.

Everyone talks about speed and a guy who can match Floyd's speed being what could trouble him......BUT.....the closest Floyd has come to losing was Castillo. Someone who didn't give one inch away, out worked Floyd, and didn't let him off the ropes. Castillo was pretty good though, better then Maidana IMO, but still with Maidana's power and he's a bit awkward when he throws certain punches.....it could be interesting.

If he can successfully keep Floyd on the ropes and not let Floyd work, he can win 3-4 rounds.
I would be satisfied if Maidana performs better than most expect him to. I also think Maidana's rangey awkward punches allow for him to be a danger in the middle of the ring as well as on the ropes. Its really about whether Floyd fights more flatfooted, as he did against certain fighters, or whether he will get on his bike potshotting early. From what little I can gather, he said Maidana "outhustled" Broner as if that was the mistake that needed to be rectified. As a result I think Floyd has in his mind to throw alot of punches to win rounds...to walk chino down in a more flatfooted fashion perhaps, as he did against Ortiz.. Mosley.. and other "big punchers". And like I said that could give wings to Chino's awkward range in the middle of the ring.

Id be satisfied with an 8-4 fight though.

I have never made such comments about any other fight.

Canelo I felt was too green. A kid that would get outfoxed. The first outfoxing move was a damn catchweight.

Cotto was too war torn.. wouldnt have endurance against counters because of a "stopped man's" mindset.

Guerrero betrayed himself and his inferior mindset with his overly sanctimonious uttering. He's david.. so Floyd is Goliath? A giant eh?.. thats a man who lost before he even set foot in the ring.

Ortiz I chalked up as not able to endure adversity enough to overcome Floyd.

Mosley Sounded good at first till I saw how he was training for the fight and I heard his trainer talk.. effectively making Mosley mentally apprehensive of what May will become when you clock him. A dragon, indeed!

Marquez too small and bad style matchup.

that covers his recent fights and what I thought leading up to each one

The clue to me is in the promotion. They are treating Maidana as tba. Floyd is exec producer or whatever and has a hand in treating Maidana as tba in promotion. They marketed Ghosts dumbass better. Part of it is Maidana's no nonsense demeanor as well... just begs someone to overlook him.

As talented as Floyd is, I believe he's well aware that as history has often proven, underestimating an opponent based on past performance and based on a majority consensus that the opponent is not as great or is weak, can certainly lead to the "Anything can happen" moment, and be the cause of the downward slide.

If you've noticed, Floyd will give the opponent the benefit of the doubt, to assess the opponent's true ability as a fighter. Then he opens up on him at the sign of any weakness in his opponent's defense and minor mistakes.

When the opponent can longer offer a challenge after several rounds, Floyd will coast to the UD and the win.

That's based on my personal observations.

    .
Broner is a gifted athlete as well... its his craft and intangibles that failed him.

Floyd usually has a great mindset.. has sharp craft.. and is in tip top shape.. little nuances I see suggest he's batting with 2 out of three of those for this fight.

there is an inherent element of underestimation in the very concept of giving someone the benefit of the doubt..he needs to be prepared for the possibility of his trickery not working as well this time. He needs to be ready for a war of attrition. I think his gilded halls will eventually corrupt him. Hes not soft of form or technique.. but his spirit is getting a little softer.. I feel. That which makes him a fighter and not just a boxer with nice tricks. If hes taken to the wire how will he respond. No one has taken him to the wire in a hot minute.. Mosley tried but then mentally folded.

    Floyd clearly respects Maidana.

He's known about Maidana since the Ortiz fight because he spoke about it in the Ortiz build up.

He's taking him very seriously as he does every fighter.
The promotion (or lack therof) of Maidana, which Floyd has a hand in, suggests otherwise.

I think most level headed fans agree Chino is not consistent with his conditioning and development of craft throughout his career. Thats what keeps the man from p4p because he certainly has the fight and power for it. But I believe from what Ive seen of his training that Floyd is getting the best version of Chino. A beast that will be a challenge of will and heart for all 12 rounds. He's going to leave everything in the ring. Everything. Will Floyd? Can he? Can he even muster that anymore? Or have his gilded halls and spoils of war dulled his edge.... without anyone even realizing?

Those awkward punches that Maidana throws is him trying to use his elbows if he misses with the punch. The punch is really an elbow in disguise. I really don't know why they allow him to get away with it for so long. He is the dirtiest fighter i have ever seen; having said that, he has no idea how dirty Floyd can get as well. This fight could get dirty real fast and, for the sake of the audience, i hope there is no disqualification. Maidana has a disqualification bound to happen soon if he keeps up his antics.

No....Canelo is known for gassing and adding that to Canelo being forced to make 152, the idea was to force him to fight early and hopefully burn him out by mid-rounds.

A very cool episode that did a fantastic job of highlight both men behind the scenes.

I could do without all the cars and cash bull**** that comes with Floyd's public persona, but I really enjoyed watching him pass his knowledge on to the young kids in his gym - That scene showed him in a light we seldom see him cast in, and I could definitely go for seeing more of that and less of the superficial nonsense.

Also super happy for Marcos Maidana and his family. Say what you want about him, but Chino's busted his ass for this opportunity and I'm really glad he's finally going to get the payday that he's been long overdue after upsetting supposed superstars for years.

Make no mistake about it : Maidana deserved this shot more than anybody else out there right now.

Looking forward to the next one.

Floyd: you guys are about to see things on All Access that you've never seen before

half of the show is him flaunting his money and buying cars

then when he finally has his kids for a few days, he holes them up in a hotel instead of his house

                **** was lame all around

Whilst I thought it was an ok episode it's true that the whole "Money" thing is so so stale now.

It's been 8 years now. 8 years of the same thing over and over. Every one of the 24/7's or All Access' he shows his cars Literally every time.

It was fresh at first and entertaining but 8 years on, not so much.

I didn't think the episode was too bad though to be honest just needed more of Maidana.

I like the whole "Broner's terrible" rant by Floyd and Big Floyd was cool.
