1st off he was coming off the 1st loss of his career so its not wise to fight Lara in the 1st match back. 2nd and most importantly, it was Canelo's 1st PPV as the lead attraction. Angulo is Mexican, action packed, and gave Lara trouble. Its not unreasonable to see why they chose him.

not to me. I think duck usually means if someone is riding high and wont fight another guy. Not when you are at your lowest point, especially if its just a one fight thing. Again, it wouldnt shock me at all if Canelo has a fight in July and they pick Lara. If they fight in July then I expect him to pick Lara, especially if they didnt sign the Smith fight 1st.

Im not going to call anyone a duck coming off an L or their worst perfomance. I dont think they wouldve even fought the undefeated version of Trout after the Floyd fight, especially for a young guy. You want him to have that bounce back fight 1st. Now, add to that the PPV thing and it was a no brainer

Sorry. I assume you was familiar with the canelo-lara story. First, before Lara-Vanes promoters said that the winner was in line to face Canelo. After the fight that as far i can remember was an injured Lara keep winning in good manner but the fight with Canelo never happened. Then Canelo said after Angulo that Lara still have to wait even when he had good defenses against Trout and Angulo. Is not only a month ago Canelo ducked Lara, is a long story of ducking.
Your argument of the tune up fights for me is not acceptable. Is an honor to loose with Mayweather. Everybody loose with Mayweather, and use this an excuse to fight grandpas is an excuse. Cotto, Martinez are great names but old guys like was Mosley when foght Canelo. The real challenge now in the division after Mayweather is Lara, Kirkland etc. The other path is what I mean duck the real opponents and find a path more suitable to a fraud when you see Canelo's records

How can you talk bad about Angulo? The real reason why people wanted to see canelo-Angulo is because he gave Lara hell. You act like he was coming in as garbage. He just had a super tough fight with Lara and I dont care what you say, an L is an L, especially for a young guy. You think Canelo would bounce back from Floyd but you truly dont know and Lara wouldnt sell like Angulo.

Also, let me help you remind that Lara came to Canelo asking for a fight and due to his negative Lara will fight Ishe and not viceverse. If Canelo was accepted the fight Lara won't now be fighting Ishe, but you are fan of a coward ducking fighter and Lara has to continue fighting witchever accept the fight.

I dont think that is the case, especially if you are willing to fight him soon after. Lets say Canelo lost to Trout and Floyd. Then is not fighting Lara still a duck? Lets say he lost 4 fights in a row. Then is not fighting Lara still a duck? I think a duck is only if you are either riding high or a continual thing where you avoided a guy but I wont trip about one fight, especially when a guy is younger and doesnt have the full experience. Plus, its not like there were no other reasons (PPV) and most of all, he didnt fight a can. He fought a guy who just went to the wall with Lara. To me its like a good gauge to see where you are after the Floyd fight
