Smith was in a very bad place. Now he might be like the next Zab. Getting big fights and title chances even after losses or when he probably doesnt deserve just because he's with Floyd. With that being said, Lara should win

just to be clear. Im a boxing fan. I like nearly all the boxers. I am maybe "slightly" partial to pure boxers because I think most people hate them. I love the sweet science and can appreciate it. Im a huge Lara fan. I wont miss one of his fights. However, I have always felt Canelo has the goods. I would love to see that fight but have always favored Canelo just because I think he may not be great at anything but does everything fairly well. I truly beleive that he has no fear of Lara at all. 0. That doesnt mean Lara cant win. He's highly skilled enough to do so. It would be a great fight. I just wouldnt call what Ive seen from Canelo so far in this situation ducking

BTW, Im partial to Ishe. Nearly all boxers are cool but Ishe is always one of the most approachable guys to meet and he was the only guy I can think of that ever came on one of our boxing shows so he gets that respect from me. Very open to fans and never afraid to state his opinion

You talk about things since the Vanes fight. He had a draw with vanes and since then Canelo fought an undefeated tough fight in Trout who just beat a star in Cotto. As far as I can see your reasoning for you is fine not to foght the best opponents in a division. The fight in this division is against Kirkland or Lara. Cotto and Martinez are old grandpas who are going to be beaten by Canelo. For you is fine, for me no. I want to see the fights who are not easely predictable who will win. Those are the challenge, but the others fights against Cotto or Martinez I bet on Canelo. When a fighter is usually fighting with this logic for me is a ducker because is avoiding real challenges most of the time

I respect your romantic way to see the reality of this sport. For me I want to see the best fights at the right time, not after they are all. No protect the boxers, no ducking, no excuses. This fight has been waiting for a long an Canelo still is saying he has to wait wjile he is looking all grandpas available or bums to fight. THis is unacceptable for me

you are an unreasonable fan who is not realizing that this is a business and you arent holding everyone to the same standard. Money will always supercede everything. Cotto-Sergio is just a bigger fight, no matter which way you want to slice it and I dont think everyone agrees with you that Lara is even a harder fight than the winner of that fight.

I say you dont hold people to the same standard because Lara himself would 100 out of 100 times do the same exact thing. You think he wants Canelo just because he's so great? No, its also for finacial reasons. Did you see Lara begging for a Molina rematch when he had the title? No because other guys bring more money/fame to the table.

The Lara fight will be there for Canelo after the Cotto-Sergio winner but there is no guarantee that the winner will be there for him afer Lara. You always go with the money 1st. Every fighter does whether you want to admit it or not. These guys take massive punishment. They all want to be paid for it.

Again though, the things you are saying makes no sense. You keep talking about Kirkland. They tried to fight him a ton of times. Do you really think they are scared of Kirkland? They probably think thats not much different than an Angulo fight and alot of fans would agree. The bottom line is that there is a 99.9% chance he is fighting Lara, Kirkland, or the Cotto-Sergio winner next. All should be acceptable to you. I dont know anyone who has said they rather see a Kirkland fight over Cotto-Sergio winner

so Pac ducked Bradley by fighting Rios? Most people think certain guys earn a soft touch opponent even when they are winning if they fought alot of big names, let alone if they are coming off an L.

You guys need to be reasonable. You guys never heard of working your way back to the top or building up confidence? He just lost the biggest fight of his life. You guys praise Cotto like he's never turned down a fight but did he duck Canelo & Sergio to fight Delvin Rodriguez? No. Its what guys do all the time and its not a duck

Floyd is 37. Is he a Grandpa? If you think no one understands why he would fight Sergio-Cotto over Lara then you are crazy. Any fighter would. All of them. No one in history would fight Lara over the Sergio-Cotto winner. It makes no sense to. Is every fighter in history a duck, including Lara?

Again, with that being said, it sounds like Canelo wants to fight someone in July. If Lara makes it clear that he's available and Canelo doesnt fight him, then you can call it a duck. Until then you cant say that and last I heard from his team & Schaffer, Lara is on the short list
