Lara has a belt, Canelo is a simple name right now. If its an easy fight, why not take that belt in impressive fashion?Comment

Lara is far from unbeatable, I agree. But Smith is far from capable of beating Lara.Former International Boxing Federation [IBF] junior middleweight champion Ishe Smith will get a second chance to capture a world title when he challenges 'WBA' regular champion Erislandy Lara over twelve rounds at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on May 2 in Las Vegas. The FS1 televised card takes place on the eve of the Mayweather-Maidana Showtime PPV from the MGM Grand.

Before vanes match the winner would face Canelo and after the draw he said Lara doen't deserves the fight. Later when Lara faces him in the press conference he said lara has to wait his turn on whatever this phrase could mean.Comment

Sorry. I assume you was familiar with the canelo-lara story. First, before Lara-Vanes promoters said that the winner was in line to face Canelo. After the fight that as far i can remember was an injured Lara keep winning in good manner but the fight with Canelo never happened. Then Canelo said after Angulo that Lara still have to wait even when he had good defenses against Trout and Angulo. Is not only a month ago Canelo ducked Lara, is a long story of ducking.I dont get any of your responses to me. I dont get the hate at all for Canelo. How can he be ducking Lara since the Vanes fight? That makes no sense. Lara fought Vanes who is an ok win. Trout beat Cotto who is a much bigger win. The Trout fight was easily bigger then the Lara fight. He picked Trout (which no one thought he would) and he won the fight. After Trout he fought Floyd. There is no way you can say he ducked Lara unless you are strictly talking about the Angulo fight but you have to be reasonable.
1st off he was coming off the 1st loss of his career so its not wise to fight Lara in the 1st match back. 2nd and most importantly, it was Canelo's 1st PPV as the lead attraction. Angulo is Mexican, action packed, and gave Lara trouble. Its not unreasonable to see why they chose him.
People can hate but Canelo has genuinely tried to make fights with guys like Cotto, Kirkland, and Williams. Genuinely. I dont think he has any kinda fear of Lara. I truly think that he puts him in nearly the same bout as Trout. Even if GBP or his team dont want Lara, I could see Canelo asking for it just like he did the Trout fight.
The problem now is Lara has seemingly singed or is close to signng to fight Ishe so how can you say Canelo is ducking again if he has this fight set even before Canelo beat Angulo? Again, Canelo's next opponent is the only time you can say that he is ducking Lara but the Smith fight makes that even hard ot do. I personally think Canelo has no fear and he will fight Lara next unless he gets the Sergio-Cotto winner (which you cant blame him)
Your argument of the tune up fights for me is not acceptable. Is an honor to loose with Mayweather. Everybody loose with Mayweather, and use this an excuse to fight grandpas is an excuse. Cotto, Martinez are great names but old guys like was Mosley when foght Canelo. The real challenge now in the division after Mayweather is Lara, Kirkland etc. The other path is what I mean duck the real opponents and find a path more suitable to a fraud when you see Canelo's recordsLast edited by racostaa; 03-23-2014, 12:38 PM.Comment

Also, let me help you remind that Lara came to Canelo asking for a fight and due to his negative Lara will fight Ishe and not viceverse. If Canelo was accepted the fight Lara won't now be fighting Ishe, but you are fan of a coward ducking fighter and Lara has to continue fighting witchever accept the fight.I dont get any of your responses to me. Smith has the potential to beat anybody @ 154lbs but his skills and knowledge does not match his vision of placing shots!!! Lara is the smaller man !!!
