He will continue learning and become a better fighter.

Do you think he would have learned more from fighting a blown up fly weight tomato can?

He a legend for his ambition and willingness to take the tough route, not make any excuses and comes back with another tough fight.

You have very limited expectations for "legends"

Russell has pulled out of other mandatory fights with far less skilled opponents like Luis Franco so why would he stop now.
Luis Franco is a talented boxer !!! You don't know $h!t about boxing!!!

The irony of this fight... One fighter being moved along at the speed of light, the other at the pace of a snail.

Incoming News: Gary Russell jr derides Vasyl Lomachenko: "Who is this cat? He ain't on my level! It's an insult to the sport and all the other athletes who put their blood, sweat, and tears into this sport. Who is this guy, he ain't fought no TBA's like I did!"

don't like this, don't like it at all. Picking against Vassya again, but rooting for him!!! This is too early, he has been shown to have many flaws at the pro level. He is probably not ready yet.

this isnt broner going up to 147 for a title shot. loma is clearly very serious about this and has the skills to succeed. he might be overstepping some guys but i'd argue he's probably better than the guys he's stepping over.

think what you what about salido but that dude is no joke. and loma almost beat him and probably would beat him in a rematch.
Loma would beat him in a rematch. In the final round he had salido seriously hurt.

I think Loma actually is going to be one of the best at the weight. I really like what I saw of Loma. Salido fight should be the experience he needed. Give him the confidence he needs. Salido looked much bigger than Loma.

It ain't going to be Russell. They've turned down lesser threats, even if Loma is inexperienced, no way in hell Russell is ever fighting such a technician and celebrated amateur. Their point of view is, there are 4 belts and many years ahead so why rush? Mike Jones did this too. Many fighters do. But as it did for Mike Jones, this can backfire on you too.

So who is Loma going to fight when Russell declines the fight?
