The only way I see this fight as a positive is because it could mean the first of a lot of matches that we've been missing for years, involving the top 2 promoters . We can see very clear that Arum wants Lomachenko to be the champion one way or the other, with only one win, and it was against an outsider of the top 10 in the featherweight division. Lomachenko is an excellent boxer, no doubt, and it showed against an extremely heavy Salido, but there's Arum once again showing the lack of respect for the sport, especially to boxers whose opportunities for a world championship belt come 4 or 5 years in average after their pro debut, if they ever get one.

Again with Lomachenko. This guy doesnt deserve a title shot. 1-2

Boxing is corrupt and money talks but this Loma situation is PATHETIC. There is no way in hell Loma should be fighting for a title again. Arum puts Rigo on the shelf but gets this guy underserved title shots. I dont blame Arum because a promoter should get their fighters the best fights possible but to put one of your best fighters on the self and get these fights for a unproven rookie is garbage. The WBO is a complete joke for this. Rigo got a early title shot too but he was clearly the best at the weight.

Loma can be great but I don't understand the rush. Let the guy develop and earn his legacy. Don't force feed us and don't ruin him by rushing him.

what is the significance of this? how can the WBO order them to do anything? neither of them have the belt so what leverage does WBO have over either of them. If one or both refuse, neither lose a belt...no one loses anything.

You might say that they lose their shot at the title but Gary Russel Jr. and his team has made it very clear that they don't want any titles or challenges at all.

well if we're talking about how the best fighters are the ones who should have belts then loma is probably one of the better fighters in his weight class regardless of resume so maybe he does deserve a title shot.

this isnt broner going up to 147 for a title shot. loma is clearly very serious about this and has the skills to succeed. he might be overstepping some guys but i'd argue he's probably better than the guys he's stepping over.

think what you what about salido but that dude is no joke. and loma almost beat him and probably would beat him in a rematch.

That is true but neither is Russell. In his 2 fights Loma has fought better competition than Russell has in 20 plus fights.

How can anybody have anything bad to say about Lomo, the guy fought a veteran who happened to be the size of a Welterweight on fight night, he also had Salido holding on for dear life in the last round, but he came up short. I definitely think he deserves another go around imo...
