Canelo came in with confidence as would be expected knowing that as young as he is, he fought the best PFP fighter in the world and had to learn a ton from that last fight. He must have had a boy's chin when Cotto's brother rocked him but he had a man's chin in there tonight. But Canelo is no longer a junior middleweight and needs to move on to middleweight next. He and Golovkin would be a great fight!

Weeks is incompetent. Very poor decision. These two are warriors. LET THEM BOX. Angulo is a get hit type of boxer....Imagine they stopped the Gatti vs Ward wars? These bad decisions is killing boxing!

maybe a little premature but it didnt change anything. if it went any longer it would have resulted in angulo taking more pointless damage. it'd be different if angulo did anything, but none his punches had any power. floyd did more damage to canelo's face than angulo did and floyd is supposedly featherfisted while angulo is a knockout artist.

angulo might not be happy about the stoppage but he did nothing throughout the course of the fight to suggest he had any chance of winning so there was no need for it to go any longer. his own trainer said he'd only give him one more round before stopping it if he didnt do anything...angulo responded by taking more punches to the face.

Good stoppage IMO. Angulo was getting whooped. Don't curr about his Mexican pride. Better to save him from himself.

Actually Tony Weeks may have saved Angulo's career; there's a lot of bad taste in the stoppage and because of that Angulo now has the people's support behind him.
