Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin is still celebrating his victory from this past Saturday night as he not only had a homecoming back to Brooklyn, NY, but also won his first world title against Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam. When Quillin appeared on the most recent edition of BoxingScene’s official radio show The Boxing Lab, he was asked what his thoughts were on a potential fight with Gennady Golovkin who just had his HBO debut in September and looked like a human wrecking machine.

So I'm suppose to take the word of Golovkin's promoter even though I Know that Golovkin has a contract with HBO and that they don't work with GBP. Also if Golovkin's representatives were really interested in stepping up his opposition level one would assume that they would be able to move a fight up a week or back a week.To me this seems like a bunch of smoke and mirrors to keep up the whole most avoided man in boxing label and thats all okay, but don't attempt to sale me chicken **** and call it chicken salad. Also since his team is willing to face a GBP fighter than why not Lara and don't say because he doesn't have a title when he has fought Rosado and Ishida in the past.

Then he's offered a huge rematch fight with Froch in England, and he also turns it down. He didn't want Stevenson, won't move up to 75, fights a very limited Rodriguez, and then spends his time complaining about guys at 60 who won't fight him

I'm simply tired of hearing from this guy
What's making it bad is the blatant hypocrisy he and Hunter are always speaking. Both Froch and Golovkin have been criticized by Ward and Hunter now for wanting a Chavez fight, when he wanted to fight Chavez before both of them.

He's not fighting, he's always complaining, he's criticizing other fighters, he's always trying to break away from his promoter, what the hell is there to support any more? He needs to shut up and fight.

i think you explained it perfectly. also doesn't help that he hugs and grabs non-stop. if you hug and grab against other top guys people overlook it but when you duck the best in your division and hug and grab bums it's a joke.

Damn both misinformed and thick. Bud, both of the Quillin links are well before GBP was kicked out from HBO, check the dates. GGG ended up fighting Proksa after Quillin passed on the title shot on HBO main event. He still has not featured in a main event even on Showtime. And this was before he got the NDam shot, before NDam was even promoted.

You don't follow boxing much, eh? Dates are not so easily moved, especially at MSG, cause some punk that just passed 2 months earlier has UFC on TV that night. Here's Geale passing on Monaco just prior:

Promoter Gary Shaw has advised BoxingScene.com that former champion Daniel Geale (29-2, 15KOs) is ready to sign a contract to face WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (28-0, 25KOs). Earlier this year, Geale passed on a fight with Golovkin in favor of a bigger payday, which also gave him the opportunity to avenge his first career loss to Anthony Mundine. Geale avenged his defeat to Mundine and then came back in August and lost a close twelve round split decision, and his IBF middleweight title, to Darren Barker. Since that loss, Barker was knocked out in two rounds by Felix Sturm, who Geale defeated in September 2012.

BTW, haven't read one comment yet. But I guarantee you GGG's fanboys are making the; Ward is only talking cause GGG has an opponent, Ward needs to move up, Ward is boring, Chavez Jr is a bigger draw, blah, blah, blah.
I see it differently. Both GGG's and Ward's people are hypocrites. You have GGG saying he is not willing to go to 168 yet, but will for Chavez. You have Ward's people telling him he gets no credit for fighting Chavez, right after they were trying to land a Chavez fight themselves and boasted about how great of a fight it would be.

So I see this as fanboys, like yourself, trying to bend and mend the sh|t that is happening to make it look good in your favor, just like GGG and Ward's camp are doing.

They [Golovkin's team] of course had no intention on leaving the MW division because there are more lucrative fights at MW. Fights with Sturm in Germany would be huge, the shot at the lineal champ Martinez is another. Yes, they had no reason at that time to want to jump to 168.

However, when the cash cow within those divisions calls your name, you jump on it and take the fight. Regardless of what you believe the more lucrative fight for GGG is the Chavez fight.

And don't think for a second that Ward wouldn't change his tune about Chavez if Chavez had called him out. Ward would leap for joy if his name was mentioned.
Don't pretend a Ward fight, #2 P4P fighter wouldn't be lucrative for GGG or Chavez. Ward has been ready to fight either one, but neither are ready for Ward apparently. If this isn't a blatant duck I don't know what is. My tune could change a little if he fought Ward after Chavez, but have a feeling a won't. GGG n Co know the deal

                    p4p means nothing.
Sturm is a bigger fight for GGG, so is Martinez, and you're fooling yourself if Chavez isn't more lucrative than Ward.

no one likes ward. his ratings suck. i'm sure hbo would pay them well but then again they would make just as much or more fighting each other, and they don't have to worry about ward's hometown refs and constant clinching. its smart to freeze out the cheaters and leave them by the wayside complaining.
