Promoter Gary Shaw has advised BoxingScene.com that former champion Daniel Geale (29-2, 15KOs) is ready to sign a contract to face WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (28-0, 25KOs).

Earlier this year, Geale passed on a fight with Golovkin in favor of a bigger payday, which also gave him the opportunity to avenge his first career loss to Anthony Mundine.

Geale avenged his defeat to Mundine and then came back in August and lost a close twelve round split decision, and his IBF middleweight title, to Darren Barker. Since that loss, Barker was knocked out in two rounds by Felix Sturm, who Geale defeated in September 2012.

Golovkin returns to action on February 1st in Monte Carlo, where he defends his titles against Osumanu Adama.

"Daniel Geale is ready, willing, and able to sign a contract to fight Gennady Golovkin on HBO. After Golovkin has his fight in Monte Carlo, Geale is ready to fight him on HBO. Golovkin is a very good fighter, but Daniel Geale believes that he has the style to beat him," Shaw told BoxingScene.com.

To conclude: some Russians have to put some serious money on the table, so that the supposed "big time" Golovkin's opponents would have no other excuses. As long as GGG fights have no money on top, this kind of discussions would carry on.

[QUOTE=ggg_kz]Oleg Herman, Manager of GGG: - I heard about what Show wanted, but I have a question: what puts him in a place to demand from GGG more than what Geale was paid when he was a champion and fought Barker? Geale was interesting only because he had an IBF belt. Now he is nobody. He does...

Martinez would be a non factor for 2014 if he fought cotto.... Assuming he won. If he won he'd have to face Rubio next

Update! Response from GGG team
