Why do some posters keep saying Floyd should fight GGG or Martinez at 154?

No you don't, admit it. You think Lara has a chance, but you do not think he would win. By the third round you'd wanna change the channel.

im pretty sure sergio would starve himself, cut of his right leg, and drop about 30 lbs to fight floyd. fighters from damn LHW are talking about fighting floyd. sergio wants it at any weight, because he loves the money

in fact here's a picture of sergio taken yesterday

Oh and the best fight the best, it's like how people spoke about Hagler/SRL for years and years, ww champs have fought mw champs continuously throughout history.

Yet another reason why: because Floyd is counted as THE MAN at 154, so if one of the leading mw champs wants to come down to YOUR weight and fight for YOUR title...what's so wrong with that?
I don't remember Floyd saying 54, I do remember him saying something about a weak ass catchweight when he was 1st asked about the potential matchup, but I could be wrong. A link would be cool though.

My scenario had to do with an established top level fighter that goes down and he's still successful after being at a higher weight for years. I'll wait, otherwise I'm done with you because you can't give a reasonable answer.
Vasquez had some fights at 140, started his career there fought Canelo at 140 and Bradley at 140.

He was there a few years then went down to 135.

          He's a young guy though.

Mudine's an older guy that moved down but like I said in my other post he's an exception more than a rule.

I highly doubt there's many examples of a fighter in their 30's who have been at a weight for over a decade who have succesfully moved down a weight class.

Floyd Mayweather never had Sergio Martinez in his radar. Nor has anyone asked Floyd about GGG and Andre Ward.

There was a time though he was asked at a post-fight conference about Sergio Martinez. And that was the first and last time anyone has ever came to asking him about Sergio. Floyd said he could possibly fight him but that Sergio wouldn't be hitting him with all that 'wild a$$ **** he throws.'

Since that specific time, no one has ever asked him about Sergio Martinez face to face again. The closest anyone has gotten to bringing Martinez's name up was through asking Mayweather Sr, and Roger Mayweather.

Leonard also moved up to 154 and teased the fight. People thought he might announce a Hagler fight when he retired the first time. If Mayweather was doing the same, we'd all be demanding Mayweather move up to fight Golovkin or Martinez. Besides, Leonard was much bigger than Mayweather. It wasn't an unreasonable request.

I'd love to see Mayweather test himself against one of these guys, but only at middleweight. Doing it at 154 would almost certainly lead to Mayweather dominating a weight drained fighter and getting no credit.

Floyd will avoid Lara like the plague.
