You Rigotards are off the hook. If you guys love Rigo so much get your asses on a plane and go watch him fight. The guy has had 4 trainers in 13 fights and he wont change his style. Hell Roach couldn't even get him to take a step forward. Besides theres other networks out there besides HBO. In fact I see the NBC Sports Network in his future.

It revolves around familiarity and excitement. There are nearly 4x as many Puerto Ricans in America than Cubans and 50x more Mexicans. Who do you cater to? There are about 300x more black Americans, who do you cater to? This can be looked up using the census bureau. Don't kid yourself, this is about business, not race.

Funny you should mention that. Me and a bunch of friends hit up the Golovkin-Stevens fight at Buffalo wild wings and nearly all the black patrons were whooping and hollering for GGG after the first few rounds. Goes back to my point about familiarity and excitement.

Really?! He's not Kirkland...but he surgically lands hard flush shots throughout his fights. A guy doesn't have to be in a brawl every fight to be fun to watch. He's nowhere near Rigondeux in the dull dept.

My experience is much different. Specially living in different cities. From the south, to the military bars, to Tx. Just fyi, it's not just race which you're just trying to focus on.

Well I found it funny/ironic that most of the negativity toward Rigo being boring/un fan friendly came from Andre Ward

I mean Ward sure is one to talk about not being a draw/super popular and all that

You see it depends on who's fighting. You can have a fighter like Golovkin who can energize any crowd so he's accepted. You can have Rigo who is brilliant, but not very exciting and who doesn't speak English on top of that. Than you can have your Floyds and Wards where people are split, but they're well spoken and easily followed by the American public and are identifiable. THAT is how business works in boxing.
