It helps that Ward comes from a good market and he has the style that alot of fans like. You know those fans that love the clinching, the rough inside fighting, the headbutts, you know the Hopkins fans.

The only people that find Rigo exciting are Cubans and Max Kellerman.

Rigo is a master in the ring but as others have said he's not an English speaking American like Ward. I personally watch Rigondeaux fights all the times to study him, truly one of my favorite fighters but I struggle hard to watch any Andre Ward fight. Half the time he's brilliant and the other half he's clinching excessively and fouling.

HBO is just mad Guillermo schooled Donaire, maybe one day they will forgive him for beating up they're little star from the Phillipines.

Did you not watch his last fight! The whole arena almost emptied out after Kirkland vs Tapia, that tells you all you need to know about the appeal Rigondeaux has, and it was the main event!

He draws no interest and your shocked that HBO executives are having a hard time backing him.

At the end of the day it's a business and about money for these guys, and your shocked by this.

Ward is an Olympic Gold medalist, winner of the super six, and doesn't fight with the style the majority of crowds outside of hardcore fans wanna see. He's easier to market. Lets be honest the networks make money by drawing in the casual fan and casual fans don't wanna see that style of fight.

I am a hardcore but yiu have to look at it from a network executive position.

For Rigo to be considered someone worth watching, he has to create an out of ring persona, which ain't gon happen cos he dont speak the lingo nor is he brash, what else can he do? Well he has to humble himself, take paycuts and get in the ring with the best around, if he thinks the Donaire fight gets him equal billing with the best out there, then he wrong. Sadly I just see Rigos comments and he just wants everything dropped into his lap, a bit like Gamboa before him and we see where that left him.

If I was Rigo, I'd take 30 or 40% of the purse to fight names like Mares or Donaire rematch, get myself back in the spotlight and then let the fists to the talking.
