There's not many "casual" fans that can name a single current top featherweight. So all of these guys are only known in the boxing community. And because of that, there's no way they can avoid Rigo. So these guys better get used to him. Because he's leaving Arum. And he's gonna carve DLH's entire featherweight roster up. Like him or not.
One guy tried to rob him against Donaire. lol

Which is why I hope Rigo does what's best for Rigo. And IMO, that's staying undefeated and not getting touched.

These same people criticizing him would find something else to ***** about if he stopped Agbeko. Hell what about the other 8 out of 13 times he knocked his opponent out? Same **** different day.

He did do something about it. He beat him 12-0.

And like I said, none of these lil guys are gonna make huge purses. Nobody outside of hardcore fans know who Santa Cruz is. No casuals know Gonzolaz. No casuals know who Mares is. No casuals know who Gary Russell is. So all these guys are simply trying to appeal to the hardcore fanbase. And it would be a crime for hardcore fans to be so ****** that they allow these guys to duck the cream of the crop simply because he's not gonna go out there fighting like a goddamn ape.

Exactly. At or around featherweight. You can't be the best without beating him. And right now, that's his ace in the hole.

          Facts:
Rigos boxing style is impressive for purists. But.. it is also ultra boring to boot.
Good for him, he may preserve his health longer than average fighters out there; But, bad for promoters who's main objective is to sell fights.

Problem: Promoter/his camp wants more money; everybody does..i guess

          What's the simplest solution?:
If rigo wants more money in the future. He may have to alter his style a bit. If he is truly contented with what he is earning right now; then, don't mind the murmurs and stay what you are.

That's what I'm talking about. People think we expect him to sell 1 million PPV's and get 2 millions viewers. That's not the truth at all.

For all I care sign with Iron Mike Promotions and make title defenses in Miami so I can watch. This **** isn't a popularity contest.
I never had any expectations for any of these Cubans to make it big as far as stardom goes so I really don't care. As long as they achieve the best they can and represent us the right way then **** it.

I blame arum , he put it out there that it's gonna be hard to promote Rigo right after the Donaire fight .. I'm really surprised with the outcry .. I mean ya can watch Bhop, Ward , Mayweather fight but Rigo is boring?? .. I love watching Rigo fight he's a straight up master boxer and I'm just fascinated on how easy he makes the game look .. I don't see any fighter really testing him in the near future

they will make more money than rigo, hbo or showtime want them because they bring excitement, fans to arenas, high ratings, they are being groomed as future stars, with rigo they cant do that because he doesn't want to,i've said this already that he doesn't have to,but don't expect the dates on tv and big purses, can't have it both ways, you like how he fights, good, you are like in the 20% that do,thats not enough for promoters or tv guys

Shouldn't that be an even bigger reason for rigo to open up on him and try and blast him out of there!? Rigo is the one trying to make a name for himself and remove the "boring" stigma associated with his name. He had the perfect opportunity to do so last sat and didn't jump on the opportunity. Excellent boxer. Bad showman.
you are right in one sense, some fighters just don't take the extra chances. rigo needs to be more exciting out of the ring at least, his win over donaire helped him but hes gotta do more to stay relevant. I say he goes to gbp they would do a good job with him and could throw him on on some undercards vs good opponents

I don't hate how he fights from a hardcore standpoint. It's interesting and impressive. It's not exactly exciting though. That's the difference. I'm also not really bashing Rigo himself he can do what he does if he's content where he's at. I'm just sick of these threads "Oh but only if someone else did this, or if he was promoted differently he'd do better numbers". Which is wrong. He has to change his style to do better numbers and resonate with casual fans or sell himself. Things I'm not sure he can or wants to do.

They blame everyone but Mr Rigondeaux. So what is this manager of his is saying? That people left the place in the midst of the fight because they were not Cubans?
