well you understand what rigo doesn't,you understand that rigo will never be a superstar because his style does not sell, you are being realistic unlike rigo is,nothing wrong with winning and becoming a champion and being a role model for kids and like you say represent the right way,but whats wrong is that rigo wants it both ways, fighting the way he does and getting big purses and tv dates, thats impossible

Rigondeaux is still fighting? It must be frustrating to be the most bring fighter in the world and to have the second most boring fighter be the highest paid with the biggest ratings. At least #2 has a synthetic charisma about him. Rigo is not only unwatchable he's unlikeable.

Boxing is about entertainment first then it's about skills.

Rigo has the skills, but doesn't bring the entertainment.

This is absolutely true. We may never see him on tv again and he's winning if he lost , guaranteed he never gets a meaningful fight again. I'm pretty sure rigo understands this too and is maybe even more hesitant to open up a little knowing one mistake and it's over forgood .

Do you really think Rigo, or even his supporters like myself have illusions that he'll ever become a superstar. Speaking for myself, and likely many like me. All I want is to be able to watch maybe the best fighter in the world do his thing. Almost daily, someone on this forum is *****ing about the fighters "not giving the fans what they want." Well I'm a fan. And I think more fans than you think wanna watch Rigo perform, even if you're not entertained by it. I wanna see the best fighters in the world perform. Is there not room twice a year to get this guy on TV to showcase what may be a once in a generation type talent?

Anyways. Like Rigo said "You don't hit me. And I hit you. That's boxing"

I hope he keeps doing what he's doing. If they can't find opponents that can make competitive fights with him, oh well. If anybody wants to come through 122 and be a champion, they won't be taken serious unless they beat Rigo.

The same people telling him to "take risks" won't be there if he took a risk and lost his titles. They won't be paying his bills, they won't be supporting his family. Whether he wins or loses, they will ridicule him and demand more.

He maximizes his value as the undefeated, unified, lineal champion of the 122 pound division. And whether that means he has to travel or fight off of TV to make a living, so be it. Its 2013. Me and a lot of others will find a way to watch and support it.

Do you genuinely believe that any of these featherweights are gonna be future stars? The only thing we've seen recently that even remotely resembled a featherweight star is Pacquiao and Prince Naseem. Hamed behaved like an idiot and got a major push but didn't have the talent to back it up. And Pac had an entire nation that worshiped him before most people even knew he existed. And he still eventually had to move way up the scale to crossover. All these future stars you're speaking of's peak is regular HBO or Showtime and half empty arenas outside of their hometowns. The blackballing of Rigo is just an excuse Arum is using to keep him away from guys that he's hoping he can turn into draws.

Sounds like a plan let's see if its not b/s ....How many more fights does Rigo have left with top rank? Rigo has the skills the dominance all the attributes except the reality tv hoe boxer personality he could be one of the best most dominant boxers in the history of pro boxing but you cant be a ppv star without some way of getting a big following. But being a millionaire and a rare amateur and pro boxing legend wont be so bad.
