It's times like these I miss a prime Punisher.

He's output and size would definitely be a problem for Cotto.
Don't see it ending well for him.Comment

Do you have any proof that he cheated in the Cotto fight and not the Williams fight?Comment

to be fair, PW probably did fight a plastered up margComment

Cotto dominated and stopped Quintana in his first WW fight. Williams lost a clear decision and then a TKO 1 in the rematch.
His size would give Cotto problems and his high output, but he doesn't have the power to keep Cotto honest and thinking before he comes in. Williams preferred a dog fight on the inside and Cotto would happily oblige him while tearing into him with the harder shots.
Marg's slow start really hurt him against PW, once he started going that became a live fight very quickly.Comment

How do you know he didn't have plaster for the Williams fight?Comment

How do you know margs was plastered vs cotto, and how do you know he wasnt vs paul..
reasonable to think he was plastered in both,, but you cant say he was vs cotto with no proof but then insist that margs was clean vs paul, just to help your arguement,,,
All we know for certain is that paul beat margs by overwhelming him with punches, and cotto quit and took a knee vs margs
It is not crazy to think that williams with his size and activity could overwhelm cotto and maybe not stop him, but win a clear decision.Comment

I've always thought the slow start and close loss to PW to lose his title motivated Margs to change things up when he fought Golden Johnson on the Cotto-Mosley undercard at MSG. Again for the Cintron rematch, Cotto, and caught against Mosley. I can't prove that obviously so for sake of argument I'll agree they both fought a plastered up version of Margarito.
Just because PW fought and got a close UD over Margs doesn't necessarily mean he beats Cotto. Cotto has the boxing acumen and skill to outbox Williams, it has been done by lesser boxers. Williams output and size do pose problems for MC, but his jab, body work, and William's eagerness to fight it out on the inside and forsake all his physical advantages plays very much into Cotto's hands. I still say prime for prime Cotto stops him in 9 rounds.Comment
