  • lol at people who are trying to prove that this era is weak, that's bs.
In the 90s boxing became a global sport instead of just Americans vs Americans and when there are no American champions all of a sudden division is weak?
    lol
When Lewis was the champ people also talked **** about him just like they do now about Wlad.

Most of the older generation fighters wouldn't even be HWs today, they would be cruserweights.

    • According to American fans HW division would be the GOAT if following fighters would quit boxing:

      Wladimir and Vitaly Klitschko
      Kubrat Pulev
      Alexander Povetkin
      Tomasz Adamek
      Tyson Fury
      Robert Helenius
      Odlanier Solis
      Ruslan Chagaev
      Mike Perez
      David Haye
      Derek Chisora
      Vyacheslav Glazkov

and Arreola, Wilder, Thompson, Chambers, Stiverne and Mitchell will reign supreme.
Maybe even 50 year old Holyfield would grab a title or two.
70 year Larry Holmes might be an alphabet champ too.

DISTANCE & SPACING..... even you can admit we've never had something like this in abundance with two said fighters... & then we all claim that it's the comp making them this superior... they have a combination of tools at there disposal that simply put no one there size has ever had & that's why we're getting the results we've come accustomed to.... the sooner you realize this truth the less hate you will have for the overall results.
There is no hate, only the reality of what they do and dont use and the fact the era is awful.

You misunderstand why the majority find them boring. Body punching is an integral part of breaking an opponent down and opening up the head, it creates excitement. Its why fighters like Frazier and Marciano are so beloved. Todays heavyweights are just flat out lazy and would rather sit back and just head hunt. Jab, jab, grab. Jab, jab, right, grab. BORING!!

Nah, it'd still be awful. Being American has nothing to do with it.

PC answers are just that.... there's plenty of hate... & the Klitschko's were also part of the previous era... which was the better part of the Lewis/Holyfield/ Bowe/Tyson era.. they faced some of the previous era of fighters as well so let's cut them a little slack there.

Era could be awful that does NOT mean they are.. they have more than proven that they could outbox almost any prototype of fighter... there's 111 different fights to choose from & Vitali Klitschko more than showed he could hold his own against one of the very best heavyweights of alltime yet we still say he hasn't faced anyone..comes a time when one has to admit to themselves that they simply can't give the Klitschko's there due.

They are NOT lesser than previous great champions & would have a 50/50 chance vs any boxer who ever lived esp. Vitali & not too many you can say that about.

No, this is just your excuse because people find tjem difficult to watch. Fact is i rate both very highly h2h, but the other FACT they dont use a complete arsenal and have benefited from weak comp is the reason they cannot be considered higher. If i were a hater they wouldnt rank at all.

Ofcourse.. jab grab is boring... (Wlad utilizes this.. Vitali never does) You're the first person I've heard that finds body punching exciting.. it's only exciting if it's a liver shot & a ko occurs. Headhunting creates the most excitement when monster connects are behind them.. Those fighters that went downstairs & then whacked you upstairs were the shorter sluggers... they didn't have to reach down to go to the body as the bigger fighters... it's much easier to go to the head when you can reach it almost every time.. all about styles & physical stature..

Look at Vitali.. he NEVER stops throwing punches & will throw them from any position..sideways.. going back.. even when he was missing against Byrd.. he still bombed away until he couldn't throw any longer.. to me that is boxing.. You can say Wlad is boring & be somewhat accurate.. he's only exciting in the final minute of fights as that's when he's in the processs of gunning for the stoppage.. to say Vitali is boring esp. when he was involved in two of the last great toe to toe fights of the era.. Sanders & Lewis FIGHT.. every punch that was thrown had KO written on it for each combatitant.

If we took a poll asking who was more exciting Frazier or Vits, who do you think would win? How about if we took a poll asking which fight was more exciting Vits-Lewis or Bowe-Holyfield 1? Do you see the vommon denominator here? Body punching. And thats not even discussing the impotance of it. You have your opinion, thats fine, just dont call it hate when others have theres and back it up with legitimate reasons why.

                    • In an era that is perhaps the worse in heavyweight history

Having fought horrendous comp with Vitali losing the only fight that could have given him some credit (his loss to Lewis) despite the comp....

And what really does the klits in is they can he compared to Lewis, a guy who was also occasionally safety first but who fought all commers, was in a better heavyweight division, and beat one of them to boot. That tells us that even if you subscribe to the myth that the big fighters have arrived, the klits are a step backwards!

If these guys were not too bad they would clean the division out. Beat on some of the young guys before they go. And the holding of Vlad is in a league by itself.

Vitalie is better imo. I might consider him mediocre, even though he fought inferior comp.

Lets just remember that Vlad had to fight tooth and nail to get rid of Sam Peter....what else has to be said?
