Are The Klitschkos Some of The Worst Heavyweight Champions Of All Time?

There are often mixed views on the Klitschkos all-time status. Some believe they could one day be considered ATG fighters while others believe they are average boxers in a devision devoid of A Class or even B Class fighters.

As each era in boxing passes there are peaks and troughs in the level of competition - highs and lows - so the champions of each era are often viewed through the lens of the "quality of opposition", and their opposition is directly compared and contrasted against the opposition of champions from other eras.

Through this analysis, there are champions from one era who couldn't be considered to be in the same league as the champion(s) of another era.

So where do you place the Klitschkos - are they among the "worst" champions of all time, among the best champions or somewhere in between?

was watching some boxing highlights, there was some clips of wladimir, was showing him hurt guys and then his form of going for the kill is wrapping himself and one arm around a guy smothering the guy so he can't throw back and then throwing right hands in the clinch

In terms of skill, power and general ability, they are up there with anyone really. They are both very well schooled, were both excellent amateurs and keep themselves in impeccable condition.

they are probably some of the worst in terms of entertainment. They are not very entertaining to the general public, which is why none of the biggest TV companies want anything to do with them unless they fight specific fighters and always end up being disappointed anyway. They've never been on PPV, neither in America or in their adopted homeland of Germany.

All in all I think they'll be remembered with a lot of respect, but will not be spoken of in the same sense as guys like Holyfield, Tyson, Lewis, Holmes and other recent greats.

Great champions. Not so good era. I think they're competitive with a lot of fighters in any era but not on top. Vitali with his chin, height and ability to measure the distance would do better than Wladimir IMO.

Wladimir used to be a good watch but then he became a Steward student and the rest is history. One of the best comebacks in history IMO. People were saying he was done after the Brewster fight.

Great champions. There's different ways we measure guys against each other. Sometimes via opposition, sometimes intangible p4p, sometimes head to head. In some of the other ways they don't measure up to the greatness of past champs due to the weak era, although Wlad's title defense streak is starting to stake a claim for true greatness. But in terms of "head to head" they easily stand with the greatest especially Vitali who would give any champ in history a run for his money and probably beat them all due to his skillful size alone
