barker macklin pavlik Chavez all hit Serg w/more than 40% of their power punches and 3 of them sent him to the deck. GGGs offense is more dynamic than any of them.

I'd expect a good competitive fight where Serg shows moments of brilliance, but eventually gets tagged and stopped

Exactly, The Martinez of today wouldn't last 6 rounds in a fight with GGG, hell even a prime Martinez would have his hands full with GGG.

Martinez is shot to shyt nowadays so this is just a fantasy fight.

Prime/healthy Sergio is all kinds of wrong for GGG and would put on a clinic.
No doubt in my mind what so ever that Sergio running at 70% embarrasses GGG, frustrates him and makes him look lost.

He would jab him to death & dance around him all night. Toy with him.
He's not really a dancer, unless he's fighting a boxer. Williams and JR didn't have that much trouble trapping him.

And JR has absolutely no jab to even speak of. GGG pressures with a very stiff jab. Not trying to use triangle theories, but I see a 10x better version of Chavez Jr in their with Sergio, and giving him all types of trouble.

You saw what Barker's jab and technical boxing was doing to Sergio. Imagine that guy moving in on him, and having insane power.

Williams was a southpaw who had height & the reach and a lot more speed than GGG, a relentless, lanky volume puncher & Sergio was contempt on punishing Chavez Jr. He did what he pleased until the 12th when his body fell to bits.
GGG is more of a predator and more patient than those who are both huge compared to GGG.
Barker was hiding behind a high guard & countering, hes an intelligent boxer who came in with a great gameplan.

They're all proven at the top level, GGG is fighting bums. He reminds me of another Middleweight Tyronne Brunson was it? Knocking everybody dead, loads of hype, he took a marginal step up against a journeyman (Carson Jones if memory serves) & he got obliterated.
Its easy to look good against C/D level competition when you don't have to worry about anything that is coming back. He was cautious against Stevens & lets be fair, he didn't exactly look spectacular.

I think GGG is limited and absolutely made for Sergio. His jab, his speed, lateral movement, footwork. He wouldn't let GGG set himself.
I've seen GGG freeze up when guys have let their hands go. How would he cope when he has a southpaw in front of him with A level speed & power that mixes it up & has a jackhammer jab? Proksa is similar but not even 1/10th of the fighter Sergio is & he had success until he remained stationary, something Sergio would not do. I think a healthy Sergio beats this guy easily.
He may get knocked down/hurt, probably will at some point but for me he boxes the ears off GGG

A lot of the credit Golovkin receives stems from his stellar amateur career.

Still, not losing a single round against Proksa, Ishida, Rosado, Macklin and Stevens and stopping them all deserves to be commended.

LOL the excuses are ready already. Golovkin smashes Sergio Martinez at any point during his career. The Sergio that got beat up by Margarito lol, the Sergio that went to life and death with Kelly "Drunk" Pavlik and got slapped around by a high as a kite Chavez Jr. Golovkin beats any of those versions.

I don't see Sergio beating GGG now, I think the pressure will get to Sergio.

I've been following sergio the last few years and he's always been fun to watch but GGG destroys him. I think it's a great fight if serg was in his prime though.

He more or less dominated those fighters but yh it wasn't all one way, that is what happens when you fight real fighters, they hit back!

Any one of those guys walk through GGGs entire resume undefeated.

It's easy to trash Martinez's record but at the same time you have to ask who has Golovkin beat to match up with those names?

You have to go back to his amateur fights to make a case based on record. As I said earlier, I favour Golovkin to win but ultimately seeing is believing.

350-5 is uber impressive, no matter his competition do not get me wrong but was his competition really all that? Is it impressive more as a number or who he actually beat?
I mean lets take for example one of his best/highly regarded wins; Andre Dirrell, he got starched by Berto in the AMs.
A lot can happen in the AMs.

Like Curtis Stevens, he had a 250 win amateur record with few losses.
Robert Marroquinn had over 300 wins with few losses & wins over Gary Russell Jr & Adrien Broner.
