Honestly I can't see Martinez beating GGG. Not after I saw how Gennady can take the punch. I don't believe Martinez hits harder or as hard as Stevens and Gennady gone through it like it was nothing.

He hits more often, and it only takes one well-placed shot to change a fight. Seeing how easily a southpaw in Proksa got through on Golovkin has to be a touch worrying for his chances. In saying that, Murray may have laid the blueprint on how to beat Martinez.

I favour Golovkin to beat Martinez but in the longer term I think the bottom line is that Golovkin gets hit too much, imo he's going to get caught and stopped somewhere along the line.

I think people are missing the point GGG can adopt. He barely got hit in the first 2 rounds against Stevens. Only when he felt he can deal with his power easily, he turn it off and gone full 'killing mode'. I would say he almost doesn't care if he gets hit in the process. Sanchez said the same thing - that he needs to get some LHW or CW to make Gennady work on his defense.

If he is to fight Froch I guarantee his game plan would be much different. For the start he wouldn't need to take the opponent in the first 5 rounds not to be marked as 'exposed'. I actually won't chose many SMW to take out focused Stevens that fought Gennady.

That's a misconception. His last 5 opponents landed at an average of 23%, that's less than Broner's last 5 (25%).

If he's no better than he was against Murray, Martinez is getting stopped. I certainly wouldn't count Sergio out, maybe he pulls off that last great performance and beats Golovkin's ass. I wouldn't expect it though.

Serge has proven a lot more in the ring against much better competition. I think GGG will go as far as that intimidation factor will carry him a la Mike Tyson. I thought that Quillin would be able to outbox GGG but he probably could have lost to Rosado had the fight gone the full 12 ( a lot of credit to Rosado his past few fights). The horizon looks good for GGG at the moment but he will no doubt have to move up to have some real competition.

Martinez a couple years ago I would have favored but he has been in a few rough bouts and it is catching up with him. The injuries take their toll too.

Only time will tell. Unfortunately even if GGG beats Martinez people will give him a little credit. There will always be a 'mystical, prime' Martinez that would beat him.
