Such a damn good fight that end in tragedy like others before. I believe in stopping the fight to save your fighter from himself. People around also suffer. My prayers are with him and his family

In great fights both guys give and take a hell of a lot of punishment. Again im not saying that the corner had no right to stop the fight, obviously they would have been right to do so, just that at the time it was not a given that the fight should be stopped. If I remember there were about two or three one sided rounds for Perez, but even in those he was taking some big shots

I'd like to see how many thought it should be stopped in the RBR
I agree with everything you guys have been saying. I made similar comments in another thread. It was a judgment call to stop the fight. I don't think anyone is to blame. It's a tragedy. Mago wanted to fight on and his appearance and performance didn't necessarily betray his true condition. In cases such as this fight, I would never question someone's call to end it; but the RBR discussion showed that few if any of us thought the fight should definitely be halted. I wish the fight had been stopped, but who knows at what point Mago reached the point of no return. It's easy to second guess now, but it's the dreaded nature of our sport.

Fighters know the risk before they even step in the ring, and us as fans (read: TRUE fans) know the risk as well.

That being said, this disclaimer NEVER registers in my head when I hear news like this, NEVER.

I almost feel bad for even watching the fight and being entertained, smh. Most of all, I wonder if this is a sign for HBO to start carrying themselves like true fans of the sport, rather than silly casual fans who wait in the wings for a KO and/or slug fest.

HBO, K2, they should pull together and foot the bill. He was working for them after all.
