Nearly all big US/Canadian fights use the Unifed rules from the Association of Boxing Commissions, the umbrella group which covers commissions like the Nevada State Commission etc.
You can see the rules here:

Another fighter was killed on the same day that **Tony Weeks wouldn't accept Mike Alvarado's corner's suggestion that the fight be stopped** and all you guys can talk about is the rules and what ifs. SMH.....Comment

if mike disagrees, weeks would come back to the cornermen and let his corner stop mike from answering the bell. it's as easy as that.
weeks can say, your fighter doesn't agree, we are we going to continue this.
the corner can totally wave the flag, if they really doesn't want their fighter to continue.
you have seen how weeks operate, he let the fighter fights, technically, nothing wrong with what he did last week..Comment

imagine had weeks stopped corrales vs castillo the sh** storm he'd still be receiving till this day for that decision.if mike disagrees, weeks would come back to the cornermen and let his corner stop mike from answering the bell. it's as easy as that.

Of course. They know him better than I do but it's best to err on the side of caution. Why all these weird questions though? Tony Weeks refused to accept Alvarado's corner's suggestion to stop the fight on the same night a fighter got killed and you want to trivialize a fighter's safety? WTH is wrong with you? SMH......Comment

boxer's are immortalized for what they did inside the ring, as dangerous as it is, but that is how they are being remembered..Comment

I seem to recall Weeks casually stepping between the fighters to stop the action at the end of the rounds where Corrales was getting the best of Castillo and then jumping the bell when Castillo was getting the best of Corrales. I could be remembering wrong. For those that don't know Corrales and Castillo were both Mexicans but Corrales was half black. I see Corrales as Mexican but I think Weeks would've seen Corrales as black if I'm correct in what I'm remembering. Nothing wrong with that except if you let it make you biased when you're a professional referee.Comment
