Graham Earl. Badass fighti guess technically Only the referee can stop the fight.
Although I do wonder about the wisdom of asking a possibly seriously concussed fighter to make that decision when the corner wants it stopped.
Anyone remember Kastidis fighting some british guy and was belting him and the Brits corner threw the towel in and the ref just picked it up and threw it back out.
The fight went on and the Brit had Kastidis hurt not long after , although he ended up losing.Comment

Even tho only the ref can usually stop the fight, he should usually listen to the corner because they know the fighter best and if he's fine or not. Also It shouldn't have mattered if the corner wanted it stopped because Weeks should have stopped it without asking the corner or the fighter. Alvarado was taking a bad beating and had no legs and was hurt by everything ruslan threw and couldn't even keep his head up in the cornerComment

the corner can end the fight whenever they want. that's how it is, and how it should be. if a guy is taking a beating mid round you can get him DQ'd by jumping in the ring. if you don't want to let him out for the next round you can stay in the ring and get your guy DQ'd. the ref cannot, and should not be able to keep the corner from stopping the fight. at the very least, they can get their guy disqualified and get the fight stopped.Comment

He wanted to take away the my corner stopped it excuse from Alvarado once the quitter talk began. So he went straight to the horses mouth and Mike said he was done. Even later on after telling tony he didn't wanna fight anymore , he was like oh I'm not no quitter. So if he (tony) hadn't done that Alvarado would have been like my corner stopped it, I coulda finished the fight. Now he can't say any of that cuz tony went straight to him and asked if he wanted to continue.Comment

The corner men know their fighter waaaaay better than the ref so they'll see things the ref can't. Some corner men know their fighter for years and see them fight and train and even sometimes practically live together so the ref should **ALWAYS** accept the corner's suggestion to stop the fight. **ALWAYS**Comment

The ref isn't consulting a got damned thing. The fight's over if I say it's over because I know my fighter from training him for years if not decades and the ref only knows him for the 36 minute duration of the fight.Comment

That's a very sinister plot and I'm afraid I agree. That's pretty ****ed up.He wanted to take away the my corner stopped it excuse from Alvarado once the quitter talk began.
