I'll be honest, I've never rated Pirog that highly. He's constantly hurt and his biggest win is over Danny Jacobs. Yes the potential is there, but that's all I've seen, potential.

Golovkin's best win at time of Chavez Jr.-Martinez was Proksa, which came just 2 weeks before the fight.

The Barker fight looks better in hindsight now that he beat Geale, Macklin was coming off that atrocious loss to Strum, and he was coming off injuries when he chose Murray.

If he doesn't fight GGG this year though, he's ducking. In Pirog, can't duck a guy who is constantly hurt.

Sergio got pretty comprehensively outboxed in that fight anyway, it wasn't just the KD.
So you scored the unofficial KD's for Provodnikov? I didn't take points away from Garcia before the 12th for the Matthysse fight.

He wasn't outboxing him in the early rounds when he was doing his Clottey impression, he was getting outworked.

Pirog wasn't injured when Sergio chose to fight Darren Barker. And hindsight doesn't make that any less of a cherry pick.

The thing about it though is that Lou Di Bella will **** on him and GGG as opponents. Regardless of whether they're injured or who they've beaten. Di Bella just doesn't entertain them but he'll try to sell us these kinds of fights instead.

I score whatever I see. If I see a clear knockdown, I score it so yeah I scored a KD for Provodnikov.

Outworked? Does that mean throwing punches that were being blocked?

What a misleading title and the lot of you discuss this like it is serious. How many times Mundine have talk to Aussie local paper about a fight against Floyd? For all you dumba$$ know, Martinez dont even know what this guy is talking about.

Murray a tune up? Barker, current belt holder is not good enough? You giys act like GGG and Quillen been there for years. Those two guys have been belt holder for a year. How Sergio is ducking them? Worst part is to read legit posters repeating the same BS the trolls spread.

So there were no better opponents at the time than Darren Barker and Martin Murray?

                ok RingPolska whatever you say...

Just like Ward was going to fight Fonfara this past January.

Maybe it'll be on the undercard of Klitschko/Szpilka, the week after Pacquiao fights Rafal Jackiewicz

Didn't DiBella call GGG a "monster" after the Macklin fight? He knows what GGG is. I guess you can say Pirog would have been a better opponent at the time of the Barker fight, but was he actually better? I don't think so.

I don't give rounds to guys who offer little offense in return. Blocking shots is great, doesn't win the round.

Well yes he was. Darren Barker was an unknown fighter who'd never fought beyond domestic/European level. DiBella keeps saying no one knows who Pirog and GGG are whilst selling us Barker/Macklin/Murray. Hypocrisy of the highest order.

Blocking shots is defence. One of the scoring criteria. It wins more rounds that punching arms.
