Alternate version of Pulev-Thompson. The replay from a different angle at 35:36 shows Pulev should have been credited with a knockdown in round 9:

Kubrat played it careful but smart, still mixing and using opportunistic timing to score shots. His gameplan was is to let Thompson get a little fatigued so he couldn't control the distance anymore with his long arms, and to use good timing to get on the inside throwing combos.

Pulev is now Wladimir Klitschkos IBF mandatory, we may see that fight as early as December of this year (Wladimir says he wants to fight again in December).
pointless fight ... Pulev doesn't stand a chance .. don't try and sell this fight like its actually a fight the only doubts in anyones head about this fight is if Pulevs big head will get him through 12 rounds and knowing Wlad he will let him go the distance even though Pulev hits like a middleweight

Eddie Chambers nearly survived and Manny Steward basically had too smack Wlad and tell him too buck the **** up and finish that lil turd. it was pathetic

Kubrat Pulev now has wins over two opponents who were in the Ring top ten when he fought them:

        Tony Thompson
        Alexander Dimitrenko

Most heavyweights have no wins over top ten contenders. Fury, Solis, Jennings, and Wilder have none.

Povetkin has three: Byrd when he fought him, Chagaev and Chambers.

Adamek has one win over a top ten HW: Arreola.

        Haye also has one: Valuev.

I agree, Pulev did very well. I've seen a lot of posters bashing Pulev across the board today, which is really quite harsh. He had a game plan and carried it out, though I think he could have tried harder to knock Thompson out towards the end. Looking forward to seeing him against Wlad.

Yes, there's a lot of posters bashing Pulev.

It's the same ones who always bash the Klitschkos and the other East European boxers.

Still like Pulev; a smart, tactical win against Thompson that allows him to move closer to the top and without taking needless/senseless lumps to get there. Leave the heroics and risk-taking until the night the title is on the line.

Showed the sort of ring intelligence/ability to manage pressure Price could not deliver. Beat the dangerous old man Thompson and move on to the bigger prize.

let's call a spade a spade, Pulev stepped up a level against a guy who though past his best is still very tricky and awkward and can ****. Pulev did what was required of him and got the win, which is more than a certain other prospect could manage, but while he put in a workman like performance and got the W he didn't exactly set the world on fire either, I'd have liked to see him really pour it on from about round 8 or 9 on and have gotten the stoppage. I certainly can't see him being a threat to wlad off that performance. But then who is a threat to wlad right now?

                  I highly doubt it.

Wlad is miles better in every single category.

He'll beat him to a pulp and stop him when he wants.

Thats all well and good what i was trying to say was Wlad will completely dominate Pulev and its not even worth watching ...this fight is not worth paying for is what I'm trying to say

Haye and Wilder are the only heavyweights with even a glimer of hope beating Wlad the rest of the fights are pure garbage... TT is a good fighter and I love the way he punches(slow and clubbing) but he's not that impressive a win

A lot of guys with extensive ammy b'grounds seem to fight to the level of opponent. Nothing wrong with that...Solis does it as well, Pulov was never in trouble.

Solis vs Pulov....it would be a chess match. Again some fights are very tactical and involve out maneuvering more than out bashing the opponent.
