Wlad will knock him out as soon as he decides to use his right hand. Pulev is a straight up AM with very little head movement. Tailormade for Wlad.

So is Wlad though it's just that he's mastered the clinch game

Pulev did what he had to do, and it was a good performance. I never found anything exciting about him though. I'm sure he is solid top 5 but I am hoping someone strong and brash comes along and dominates. I like Ruiz, Wilder, and Fury from an adrenaline standpoint. I guess I'm Jaded and like seeing all these Knockout stars on the scene now. Kovalev, Stevenson, Golovkin, Quillin Stevens, Matthysse, etc . They are who I like to follow now.

I guess i have just gotten bored of the sport in a way and want to see concussions for the time being. I'm sure if Pulev sticks around, which I expect him to, I will appreciate what he does later on more.

Good analysis of the Pulev-Klitschko fight here:

Yes I agree Pulev showed he's a top 5 fighter in the heavyweight division with that performance.

              Wlad would obliterate Pulev.

The fight's going to be so one sided when they meet.

Boxing fans seem to underappreciate anyone who isn't smoking people outright. You know Price has LOOKED more impressive than Pulev ever LOOKED as a pro. But what did that mean against Thompson? Where's he at now? How many guys have looked impressive against Thompson? Wlad in part II. That's it. Wlad in the first had people complaining about how Wlad wasn't impressive against someone nobody ever heard of until the kayo. But here we are five years later and Thompson is still a top heavyweight in his forties, carrying extra weight, recovered from Wlad and injuries. Now Pulev takes on the guy that makes people look bad, battle tested, top ten heavyweight and wins clearly and he won't get half the praise for it that Price got for smashing up guys like Sam Sexton because Price LOOKED like such a beast and Pulev just doesn't. But what's a look when the dude who doesn't look good wins and the one that does loses? It ain't JACK.

Pulev's best weapon is a jab and he had to fight a top notch southpaw who takes em away and still got it done. Aw but he didn't look good to you? Ah well. Doing good and looking good aren't always happening at the same time. And professionals have a duty to do good first and Pulev did the job. He's not great (Wlad does probably destroy him like most guys) but he's a good contender and that was a good win. I'm a little impressed that he shook off the rust and the southpaw confusion of the opening rounds and turned the tide as much as he did to win it clear. Sure some of it's just that Thompson don't have the stamina he once did but Pulev is also one of those guys who is deceptively better than his technique looks. And the fact Thompson can still take these guys on and make them look bad? Sheeeeeeeeit. Respect.

Pulev VS Solis would be a nice match up.

Great post! Just to add a couple of more wrinkles to it (maybe). This was Pulev's first fight against a southpaw in the professional ranks. He only had a month to prepare for it. Thompson's confidence was really high because of the back to back knockouts against Price.
