any observant fan could see calzaghe was clearly missing his punches when he flurried and hopkins was catching him when he came forward, but for those non-observant fans they can watch the calzaghe deception to see proof of that. compubox was flat out wrong and hopkins outlanded calzaghe in most of the rounds. he also landed the much harder punches, buckled calzaghe's legs at least 5 times in the fight, and had the much better defense, but calzaghe did have more fans screaming for him which is worth more than all that other crap hopkins did.
What is your favorite Joe Calzaghe fight?

lol this guys definitely trolling. Joe ducked Glenn Johnson 3x and then retired before fighting Johnson or Dawson when Dawson edged Johnson the first time a week before Hopkins vs Calzaghe.Originally posted by daggumQuote:

Love him or hate him from 2006 to 2008, Joe Calzaghe fought the best opponents available to him in two different divisions and became retired as an undefeated lineal champion at 168 and 175.
manfredo? jones jr?

****** people going to be ******, *** off now, thanks :****you:'terrific resume'? - wow you have an imagination, I will give you that.
Kessler I already mentioned was a good win, and Reid too so not sure why you brought up these 2 non-applicable points.
A washed up legend is basically on the level of eurobum. That's Jones these days. Theres nothing wrong with saying hes at eurobum level now, though hes obviously not a eurobum careerwise.
Veit on the other hand is a eurobum. His career was built up around 4 and 6 rounders against nobodies. Sheika wasn't quite so bad but he was a safe, easily beatable opp.
Woodhall was not a terrible opponent, but he was never consistently good beyond his amateur career.
Mitchell was finished and disinterested, as was Eubank. They were at alltime lows in their respective careers.
Yeah now I can see why you decided to include Kessler and Reid lol. Because your actual argument was invalid without them.Comment

Why even argue anyone can look at calslappies crappy resume and punching style and see the truthComment

It would be the hopkins fight, the way hopkins took him to school wasnt quite the masterpiece we are accustomed to from bhop but it was still a thing of beauty. Too bad the BS decision kind of ruins it. So i would go with the eubank fight.
The RJJ fight was a disgrace, one of boxings lowest moments. There were plenty of real fights for joe to make and instead he picks a washed up shell of a fighter. To trick the gullable fans who have no knowledge of boxing by making an event out of such a joke is downright dissrespectful.
That some "fans" actually consider that one of joes finer moments is so unfair, the man had real wins too which actually meant something. I guess joe brings it on himself by still pretending jones wasnt a corpse.
He had every right to an easy farewell fight, why couldnt he just tell it like it is?Comment

Lol.. chad was in his prime, unlike eubank, jones and hopkins. Back then he never lost and he was already more accomplished than kessler and lacy combined. Beating chad at that point would have been joes best W.
At the very least even you should be able to admit its a tougher fight than beating up on RJJs corpse which tbh i dont think you can even call a fight. Joke or travesty is a better fit. Yet joe picked that over a real test.
I think you know it too which is why you are resorting to childish name calling instead of making real arguments.Comment

Joe CLEARLY beat B-Hop. It doesn't matter if Hopkins was in his prime, out of his prime,43,33,23,53,103,Joe beats him everytime.
If you fight Joe Calzaghe, you are getting beat.Comment

he also ducked pavlik and a hopkins rematch. why was he retiring anyway? he cried his entire career about not getting the big fights and he finally gets a couple and that's enough? he also finally overcame his fear of flying and retires? what a shame.Comment

actual calzaghe fans are picking the hopkins fight as their favorite? i don't get it. if you were a bradley fan would you pick the pac fight as your favorite? that was the worst performance of calzaghe's career. look up the word ineffective and there's a picture of calzaghe in the hopkins fight flailing his arms.It would be the hopkins fight, the way hopkins took him to school wasnt quite the masterpiece we are accustomed to from bhop but it was still a thing of beauty. Too bad the BS decision kind of ruins it. So i would go with the eubank fight.
