The best Calzaghe fight was vs Glenn Johnson.

When he twice pulled out Becuase of "injury".

Say what you want about other fighters picking and choosing fights, Calzaghe was the king at that.

travor berbick would have become an overnight superstar if he did that
for beating up an old parkinsons patient and laughing about it?
would have been universally reviled, dont kid yourself.

Calzzaghe vs Antwun Echols was best. The way Joe said he was lining him up for a fight and then Antwun said "whuuu?"

thats post injury antwun, not prime one. Joe aint going nowhere near that prime beast even in his lies.

The Lacy and Kessler wins were the most iconic because both were undefeated champions and he was an underdog against Lacy. He ruined Lacy's career after people said Lacy would send him into retirement. Kessler was in his prime and a unified champion. Both performances were dominant and excellent.

The Hopkins win was good too. Hopkins hadn't really lost a fight in 15 years and though he was quite a ways from his peak he was still on good form (Tarver shut out, Winky domination) and went onto good form (Pavlik shutout, Pascal win).

By far the Jeff Lacy fight. Shut up a lot of people with that performance.

yeh to be fair the most watchable is Lacy, a domination skillwise.

Secondly it was Joe landing a major title.

So it proved joe was at age 33/34, actually world class for the first time in his career - that was a major legacy step-up from euro-level pre-2004 wbo defences.

If he had dropped out of that fight like he wanted to, then he would have been seen as eurolevel his whole career, which would have been unfair.
