The fight against Lacy was, of course, a seminal LOL, where a slow, wide and inaccurate plodder was proclaimed as an invincible destroyer by 90% of NSB. Discussion on the fight didn't really get much higher than "Joe wil get PWNED, lamo!"

Yeah he was so ineffective that Hopkins was gassed and had to fake injury to get himself a breather, and it was only after he did that, he started landing sharp counters again. Hmmm...

Hopkins was as ineffective as Calzaghe, you could probably count the clean punches he landed that were not in clinches on two hands. People always overlook this. They nullified each other.

Hopkins should have had points deducted throughout the fight for excessive clinching, use of head, and punching in clinches. Fact of the matter is when he realised he couldn't slow Calzaghe down he resulted to ugly and in some cases illegal tactics. Throwing equally sloppy punches and falling into a clinch, often head first.

It was a horrible, forgetful fight where the person who was the aggressor and kept moving his hands got the nod over the fighter who landed more effectively but far less frequent, and despite what you think Calzaghe touched Hopkins and landed more cleanly and frequently as the fight went on.

I've just spent the last ten minutes Googling "Calzaghe sodomizes Hopkins" and i still can't find the gif.

I got a sick thrill fantasizing at the rage creeping up on Hopkins face when he watched the fight back.

It no doubt triggered flashbacks of him being brutally sodomized off Tyrone in the prison showers.
