Im not saying he was at his physical athletic peak at 43,im saying he was just as good a fighter at 33 or 30 or whatever age as he was at 43.
He isn't as strong or as fast at 43,but that doesn't mean he isn't as good a fighter.Comment

How can he be just as good if he's no longer at his physical best? Do you even read what you type?
Hopkins post 40, while yes still good, slowed down considerably, his work rate dropped dramatically, his stamina isn't as good and he doesn't have much power anymore. Hopkins is basically still winning fights by his ring IQ alone.Comment

Well as he became older, his ring iq increased obiously. It became his biggest asset, i can see his point. Hopkins has through his 40s outsmarted everyone, including Joe. It wasnt enough compared to the workrate of joe. Ring iq is more important than being a tad faster and a tad stronger. How can he be just as good if he's no longer at his physical best? Hopkins always had great ring IQ. Obviously if your physical tools decline you have to adjust to survive but clearly Hopkins can't do the things he used to, he fights at a much slower paceas a rresult thus why he'll struggle against volume punchers at his advanced age.Well as he became older, his ring iq increased obiously. HAHAHAHAHAAAAAHAHAAAA AZZ KICKED???? WTF If u call getting dropped and slapping at him like a girl for 12 rounds hitting air an azz kicking then yeah.
Joe Calslappy is a magician. He;s learned how to give an azz kicking without hurting or even touching the other person at all. See his act in 30 of his premature stoppagesComment

Hopkins is now 48 and Calzaghe seems to be the only fighter who has ever thrown volume at Hopkins and won. There is a reason Hopkins opponents are as cagey as him in their fights: they are scared of the counters. A big part - along with dimished stamina - for why Hopkins' KO's have dried up is because his opponents fight very conservatively. You'd think that if you are fighting an old man you'd try and fight at a high tempo, and yet his opponents haven't, bar Calzaghe.
Hopkins prime was undoubtedly his mid to late 30s. The version that Calzaghe beat was not the very best version but it was still a very damn good version, a better version than the version that Roy Jones beat in 1993. Hopkins is still a top 5 Light Heavyweight now, five years after the Calzaghe fight. Hopkins dominated the legitimate middleweight champ at catchweight in the next fight after Calzaghe! Hopkins age has always been slightly misleading, because he turned pro so late. His professionalism explains the rest of his enduring greatness.Comment
