9 and out is ridiculous. It's a goddamn 10 count for Christ sake. This ref must be "The Gambler" JuanMa Lopez was reffering to.Comment

It was the side of the head, an "equilibrium shot" around the ear (Scott's words), not dissimilar to the shot Thompson caught Price with earlier in the year.aside from all he rules/regs stated, watch it, as I did, several times....it was a blow to the BACK of the head, NOT around the back & he was up as the ref said 9, there was no ten called & the wave was not a "substitute" for 10. Most refs count 10 then use the wave 2 signify over...Comment

It will be interesting to see what decision they make. Personally I wouldn't mind if they ordered a rematch since Del needs an opponent in September but I don't think Chisora should be robbed of a win, he was going to beat Scott that night. You need to watch it again. I've watched it several times in slow motion. It was a clearly legal blow to the side of the head. Even Scott admitted it, who also accepted the defeat. It's in line with the general beating Chisora was giving Scott.
Its fascinating to see people rave on and on about this. Of all things to be outraged about, this isn't a decision victory where the clear winner got a draw or loss, this is a ko where the loser was being beaten and worn down, then effing KNOCKED DOWN and stayed down, indisputably until for 9 seconds, debate coming whether it was 10. You're really going to be outraged when Scott himself knew he was beaten? Its nuts. And any lawyer could tell you, the ref's action is defensible under any number of theories. For one, any British bout, no matter the sanctioning body, falls under the jurisdiction of BBBoC, which rules it is clearly in line with. Especially when they can be read in reconciliation with WBO, as would be possible here. Assailable too, perhaps, but I can guarantee it will never be overturned, its too defensible. Some people just aren't happy unless they have something they can get outraged over. You know an easy way this all could have been avoided? Come on people, say it with me: GET UP NO LATER THAN 8, like any half decent boxer will do when he's in control of his senses. I was cheering for Thompson in the Price fight, and glad he won, but frankly thought he was lucky the ref didn't count him out in that fight too.Comment

Robbed of a win that he didn't really earn, because "he was going to" win anyway.
Sigh!!! Boxingscene- the place where logic goes to die.Comment

I was doubting the the count -- which was not by the WBO rules.
But Chisora was going to win that fight anyway (he was ahead) -- and Scott had no punching power or volume...Comment

British apologism at its finest. Phil Edwards was wrong. We've seen a lot worse, but he was wrong. First of all, he seemed to be counting very quickly, and he certainly waved the fight off while the fighter was on his feet and ready to continue at the count of 9.5. There's no excuse. He was wrong.Comment
