as boxing fans we wait 20 minutes for the ring walks, national anthems, intros etc...but we can't wait 1 second for the ref to reach 10? he has to stop the fight at 9 in order to save time? just count to 10 fu-ckface and if he's not up then the fight is over. if he is up then analyze the situation and either let him continue or stop it if he can't continue.

This is the problem the refs are way too ****ing triggerhappy to stop the fight. It really is insane. For ****** **** like this and for even ******er stuff like that Molina-Kirkland fight.

I liked that article earlier about reform to reffing and having video reviews. Let the refs review these type of things to correct their mistake, and let them review footage in between rounds to make a call on point deductions

The BBBC rules say he get 10 seconds. More importantly it was for a WBO title and the rules state extremely clearly that he must count to 10 and then wave.

I wasn't saying it wasn't legit it was just hard to see it clearly. I also only watched the very end of the fight and I have not seen the post fight press conference. But either way the stoppage was a little to quick in my opinion.

You're arguing a moot point, if he said 10 instead of waving he still loses. 10 or wave is still signalling the end of the count. Never been a problem and has been done for years and will carry on being done by referees all over the world. The final signal (10 or wave) isn't the issue either it's the "rush" to finish the count that people see as the problem.
