He hasn't proven himself versatile enough yet for me to be thoroughly impressed with him. He fights each guy the same way by walking them down lets see what happens when he faces someone his size who can actually punch and hurt him and he has to adjust if he does that and makes the changes to win then I will be impressed but he gets credit for this victory but I can't say it was an impressive victory he just picked a guy who is bigger than his past opponents that he knew he could treat like his past opponents.
Was I The Only One Impressed By Broner?

Its not like he wasn't hit some 200+ times.....
His defense is good, but not mayweather good. He's there to be hit.Comment

op's too long to read but whatever that ***** is there's nothing impressive in that win. if you're a broner fan it's should only be either you're satisfied with it or a little bit disappointed is understandable.Comment

I think they will fight as well. Someone behind the scenes is really pushing for this fight. It's so obvious. I've never seen Floyd give a fighter that much credit and praise (aside from guys in his stable maybe). Then Jim Grey talks about a valid criticism Floyd made when interviewing Broner. This was a clear set up. Too much money can be made in this fight for Showtime and Golden Boy to pass up. You can tell Broner didn't like what was said either. It was delivered to him out of context. Two guys with egos this large will eventually bump heads no matter how hard they try to fight it.other than rooting for paulie I felt the exact same way-I was waiting for something from broner.
i agree with new england-he's being groomed for the next big money floyd fight. broner's comments about not wanting floyd to lose (i liked that actually) etc. are the beginning of the slow build.
but he didn't wow me at all.Comment

broner can say all he wants-he loves his kids and has a lot of them. he needs the money to support them.I think they will fight as well. Someone behind the scenes is really pushing for this fight. check how floyd got cheered on sat night. its clear they need a "bad guy" for him to fight. only broner fills that role.Comment

You're right. But there's more ingredients, you gotta be super good and beat a fading superstar. You could say being a jerk is optional.Comment

Billions of what? ****s on his chin!i'd give him more credit for the jump in weight if it weren't a pretty blatant attempt to duck lucas matthysse. he fought paulie malignaggi, a career jr WW who can't punch a lick. it wasn't an easy fight, though i thought he won. it's clear now that he's not looking for a tough fight, and that he's going to have real issues at 147 if he fights anybody decent.
i'll obviously be looking closely at his next fight. he'll get more respect from me if he fights a solid fighter @ 140 or 147 regardless. he's in his prime. this is the time when he should be taking big fights for big money, and making his case for a shot at floyd mayweather. he's not doing that at all, and still getting paid.
this is a guy who calls himself about billions. so far no good.Comment
