    No, it doesn't.

    I'm just stating what happened.

Despite the fact he quit, I don't blame him at all for quitting.

The guy quite clearly opted to stop fighting before the fight was stopped or ended.

Pretty black and white if you ask me.
        Pretty much.

I'm not ignorant to WHY he quit... but, that doesn't mean he didn't.

Some people just don't like the word quit, and like to explain exactly why he "retired" for the evening I mean whatever makes you feel better about it... but the guy quit.

it's a semantic discussion. what does "quit" mean, and did he do it? he's not a coward, obviously. the guy has taken bombs in victory and defeat for years now.
I hear you man. He's a tough dude, someone like him quits then there is probably a really good reason for it which there certainly was.

I wish him a speedy recovery.

          • Obviously he quit. Thats a fact. Id have liked him to continue but whatever, its his career on the line. Things like this happen in boxing it's a fighters right to pull out if he feels the pain is too great or his career is on the line but it does annoy me slightly that fighters like Ortiz and Cotto are judged harshly for thier surrenders where as say Izzy Vazquez and Angulo aren't....

            • For those saying he quit, y'all try having your orbital eye broken and keep fighting. Keep fighting with it and win over the "internet crowd" while $$$ goes down the drain cuz u couldn't fight anymore by just pleasing everyone.

Lol c'mon now boy's a warrior too he had to stop, this is boxing not a street fight

Nobody said he's not a warrior.

We said that he quit, and he did.

                  • Luckily for his own sake he quit but rightfully so. Had he gone on any further we may have seen something extremely gruesome as if it not looked brutal enough already.

The word quit obviously has a negative connotation to it. The word is usually used as criticism.
