Im not hating the man, my hats off to Floyd Mayweather, I do believe he is the best "welterweight" of this era, but in the middle weights, no sir. A tkod twice, slower Cotto really hurt em there. Im one of the only people out giving Alvarez a real good chance to win. It will be Ggrrrreat fight by the way.

Canelo has never fought a African American like this either!lol Gomez sounds silly. Canelo will be amazed by the speed and agility of Mayweather all he has going for him at the end of the day is size and power. He's really not even much taller then Floyd.. After a few rounds Canelo will slow down as usual and get thoroughly out boxed...

He is just doing what Promoters are suppose to do, it is nothing wrong with what Gomez said to be honest what is he suppose to say? "Canelo Has No Chance!" That would be wise especially when your trying to get people to buy the PPV and Tickets

So someone like JMM has zero defense, right? Please.
What's more, when has Canelo shown this great defense of his? Was it when Jose Cotto had him staggered? This is absurd.
Canelo has gotten by, by beating severely undersized, and outclassed opponents. Floyd will be undersized, no doubt, but his vastly superior skill will be the key to victory.
If Canelo thinks he's going to win the fight on the outside, he's dead wrong. If he tries to get on the inside he's going to get hit with flush bombs all day.
Just ask Robert Guerrero about that.
Floyd's footwork, handspeed, boxing IQ..................basically everything will be too much for Canelo.
Canelo's ONLY chance is that he is MUCH bigger than Floyd.

the real question. Canelo is 22, hasn't fought anybody that was a household name besides Mosley, and has a LOT to prove.Originally posted by mannyfresh209 View PostPrior to Ortiz fighting Berto, Berto was widely considered a top 3-4 welterweight.
Now when Guerrero fought Floyd, he was coming off a win over Berto, also. He was also the interim WBC champ at 147. Plus, hadn't lost in how many years? It was a decent fight to make from a competitive standpoint.
Now taking what I said into account, who did Ortiz and Guerrero beat at WW? How many fights at WW have they had to justify your claim?Last edited by ADP02; 06-02-2013, 03:18 PM.
