      not according to canelo's trainer.

did you not read the article this week where canelo stated he wanted it at 154lbs?

only a dishonest moron would believe floyd didnt want the catch weight.

      stop being obtuse.

so the situation may have happened in the 70's or before but I don't know of it. of course there aren't a lot of fighters great enough to do what floyd did so it would be difficult to find another example.

hey if you feel this is a legitimate criticism carry on.
It's not totally arbitrary. It's possible to be 2x paper champ, but normally you'd think of a #1 rated 2x and current champ as legit at the weight. Everybody knows DLH was a LOL titlist at 160, it was just for show

It is legit criticism and him and his fandom deserve it in spades. Without all the relentless hypocrisy it would still be legit criticism, but FAR more forgivable.

if you want to call floyd a hypocrite fine. its almost as bad as having ped testing for your next fight after saying.....well never mind. lets just make sure we all criticize hypocricy from every fighter equally.

but this TS question is silly even the manny fringe fans like you know it.

It's not silly, you pretty much conceded it was legit criticism. You know better than to keep pushing the disgraceful DLH half precedent.

I don't even give a **** about Pac's or any drug testing in the sport. As long as it's being run by promoters, it'll remain a window dressing fad. Even Schaefer was trying to wash his hands off it finally

it's not just the trinkets. The genuine belt is at stake here. What it means is, if you wanna be The Man at 154, you'll first have to drop down to 152

Do people even consider Canelo's title legit? Didn't he win it at a catchweight?

The RING title is far, far, far from genuine. Think, somehow Garcia became RING champion fighting a shot Morales.
