The RING title is far, far, far from genuine. Think, somehow Garcia became RING champion fighting a shot Morales.
Agree on both counts. However they might as well be the #1 and 2 contender, everyone has them ranked that way in every ranking. So if the Ring belt was still legit, it would well qualify, at least at the regulation weight

It's honestly come to the point where it's almost better to use top 10 ranking more than who holds what trinket....very sad stuff.

Agree on that, a fight between #1 and #2. Whomever wins will have a tainted title though. Have to call it like I see it.

so the situation may have happened in the 70's or before but I don't know of it. of course there aren't a lot of fighters great enough to do what floyd did so it would be difficult to find another example.

hey if you feel this is a legitimate criticism carry on.
there's nothing weird about the question. its a legitimate question, has there ever been a 2x division champion who asked a fellow champion in the same division they hold belts in to fight at a catchweight? Nobody has yet to come up with an example so this is a unprecedented move yet you felt this isnt a legitimate criticism? Of course its legitimate criticism. How can you say its not?

Mayweather has unprecedented pull that's why. Why is this surprising to you?

Guessing by the way your phrasing the question I'm going to guess your one of the super Pacquiao/Floyd fans.

No you proved that you changed the criteria of the question to fit your agenda.

You asked for an example of a belt holder asking another belt holder to fight at a catch weight hoping that nobody would name one. After I gave you a single example (with the exact same 2 pound drop) you attempted a childish argument to give you a reason to backtrack and edit your argument.

I can come up with silly criteria to make a biased argument also:Name another fighter other than Pacquiao who fought 3 or more catch weight title bouts at two different weight classes?

Hopkins off the top of my head.

His point is not arbitrary. 2x means he's unlikely to be a bogus titlist like DLH at MW, that would attempt such shenanigans

i didnt change anything. the only thing i changed was i added 2x champion to make it more accurate which was already in the last part of my original opening post and thread title.

                    To which you replied:

Just admit you were wrong and its not the same exact scenario. That was oscar's first fight at 160 vs strum as opposed to floyd who has had two title winning fights at 154 before they agreed to fight at a catch weight vs canelo.

You want to make that thread go ahead, but dont try to weasel out of your incorrect answer on this thread.
