  • Personally I don't think Money should fight Canelo...he doesn't need him. He is the highest paid athlete in the world. More casual fans know who Money is than Canelo...no doubt about it, Money has more stroke in any negotiations right now than any boxer.

Canelo is not on Money level and should be honored he is about to win the "lottery".

However with the above being said, if he does fight Canelo, it must be 154 lbs. You can't fight the Golden Boy, get on Pac-Man for catch-weight fights and want Angel comfortable at 154 and not Canelo.

I truly believe that Money doesn't feel comfortable at 154 but had he not ragged on Pac-Man for the catch-weight, he'd be able to ask for one now.

Have you heard him or any of his people deny it.
With the way he is getting hammered in the press based on rumors you think he would come out and squash them if it weren't true right?

Not saying it was a great accomplishment as much as a manufactored one, but Pac was the first to technically win titles in 8 different weight divisions.
In that sense, yes it was historic.
Point was, he never intended to defend the title and gave it up right away, while Floyd cried to the WBC to let him remain champion while he went to jail and fought at WW. If he is going to go through all that trouble he better damn well fight the best at weight they are both champions in.

SMH at people thinking that network is just going to toss 200 million dollars away and expect nothing in return, LMAO.

Your talking about Floyd like he's Canelo. Obviously you don't understand contracts and what a guarantee is. Im certain Showtime/CBS didn't get Floyd to leave HBO without give him a guaranteed contract, you know the ones that superstars get. Bottom line Floyd doesn't need Canelo, Canelo either acts like he needs Floyd or he can simply move up to middle-wt where he really should be (coming in @ 172) and face the inevitable.

That's what I say Flint. How about winning a title @ 160 then challenging Floyd @ 154, at least there will be something in it for Floyd right now Canelo is not worth Floyd going up in weight cause he doesn't have the credibility that Oscar and Cotto had. People outside of boxing don't know Canelo.

                    • This IS ******; Canelo IS Spot On Right! He Doesn't Need A Catch Weight Under 154!

Floyd JUNIOR was very vocal about his wanting to fight Cotto at Cotto's best, strongest weight. He played down and trashed Pacquaio for negotiating Cotto down from 54 to 47, or somewhere in between. Floyd played that up big time prior to fighting Cotto, who he thought had had too many wars, was well past his prime, and thought he was ripe for the pickin'. That's why Floyd went to 54, and nearly guessed wrong, as Cotto drug him into a street fight, bloodied his nose, and planted welts all over Floyd's head for 12 rounds. Floyd really tried to one up Pacquiao; "I'll fight Cotto at his BEST weight; I don't need him to drain himself to come down to 47 or some other catch weight!" NOW, it's on the other foot. Floyd won't go up to 54 to fight Canelo, no way, no how, never. When Schafer says, "We have another Pacquiao in Canelo"... what he really means, is we have another great fighter, we will pretend to be interested in or consider, but for no amount of money are we fighting him. I have said this all along, Floyd JUNIOR will NEVER fight Canelo. If he wouldn't fight Manny in his prime, wouldn't fight Cotto or Mosley in their prime, he sure as hell is not going to ever fight Canelo now or later. Just shows you how little his ballz are, compared to the likes of Leonard, Hagler, Duran, Hearns before him. NOBODY cares if he's the wealthiest athlete in the world. This sport is about Boxing; beating the best of the best in their prime; it's not about who makes the most money. ******!
