I'm not sure why people are hating on Alvarez. He says he wants to challenge Floyd for his 154 belt, you know the one that he earned by beating Cotto at 154, the same one he refuses to vacate? If he refuses to let the belt go, then he must intend on defending it surely.

Floyd wants the 154 pound fighter to drop in weight and the 154 pound fighter declined, what's the big deal? You people and Floyd need to realize that kings rise and kings fall, out with the old and in with the new. Canelo, like him or hate him, has much more drawing power than Floyd does, he knows it, Oscar knows it, and Floyd knows it. He can afford to walk away from Floyd but how long can loyd afford to walk away from Canelo like he did Pac?

You think Showtime is just going to toss 32 million dollars away on Floyd-Alexander fights? LMAO.....OK sounds great, let's see how it works out for him after this fight does like 400K buys. Meanwhile, Canelo-Cotto does 850K-1M buys in his very first PPV.

Really now? Go ask one non mexican, non hardcore fan who the hell Canelo is, and tell me the responses you get. Floyd on Jimmy Kimmel or Fallon or one of those guys. I don't think Alvarez is even on George Lopez

Cinnabomber I'm sorry but your not a former LW or LWW moving up to WW or a washed up WW so NO, you are not an option for Floyd. Sorry Cinnabon.

Damn selling over a million PPV's is considered completely bombing?

And how many of those type of shows was Floyd doing at 23? When Floyd was that age he was fighting on ESPN undercards in front of half empty arenas in Grand Rapids, MI.
It wasn't until De La Hoya made him a star when he was 30 that people outside of boxing knew who he was.
Fact is Canelo has the makings of a bigger crossover star than Floyd will ever be. He is already plastered all over Under Armor ads. Meanwhile mister 24/7 has 0 endorsement dollars to speak of despite being all these late night talk shows.
I love how people try to compare a 36 year old to a 23 year old and act like they have some type of point.

Are you kidding me? Canelo has fought nothing but LW and washed up WW's. He fought Josesito Lopez, Alfonso Gomez, Lovemore N'dou. These are not even average 140 pounders. He beat Matthew Hatton, Ryan Rhodes, Kermit Cintron and Shane Mosley. Who from that list was not washed up? These fighters were not even close to the top of their division. What makes this so bad is Canelo strictly fights at 154 beating people like this, but Mayweather fought their twice out of 44 fights and that makes him a real 154 pounder.
