Absolutely not. Floyd is a champ at 154. Floyd stated he would fight people at their comfortable weights with no catch weights. If Floyd was not a champion at 154 I could see your point about Alvarez challenging him from a higher weight, but that is simply not the case. The main demand here is a challenge for the belt in the weight class both fighters share a title in.

Does Alvarez have a title at 147? What's the point at fighting in that weight class of 147?

So yes, things are looking a little shady in Floyd-Land.

Paper Champ? Floyd beat up the number 1 guy at 154 in Cotto for that WBA Strap. A paper champ would be Canelo, being awarded a vacant WBC belt. That being said, this fight should take place at 154 as long as Floyd is a champ at that weight. Schaefer say's there are no weight issues, before I jump the gun like many of you have, I think it's best to hear from Floyd himself, or Ellerbe...you know....the guy's who are in the negotiations as well.

          Who has Alvarez defeated?

Why must Money May step up to the plate and fight and unproven fighter? First there was all this hype and mania surrounding Pacman until he got knocked out by the guy Mayweather shut out, and wants nothing to do with Mayweather. Now the same fans who are accepting Pacman vs Rios demand that a former featherweight champion, go all the way up to fight some guy who re-hydrates up to a super-middle weight? This is hilarious! Who has Alvarez defeated to earn a fight with Mayweather? What has he done to make Mayweather tremble in his boots? I see Mayweather was right, there will always be another phantom fighter, his haters ressurect from obscurity and claim that he's the latest guy Mayweather fears. Soon these people will call Mayweather a chicken for not moving up to heavy-weight and fighting Wladimir! Where does the insanity end FFS??

If the clown monkey mayweather (because this dude belongs in the circus) fights on Mexican Independence Day who is going to buy a PPV if he's not fighting another Mexican? Canelo can headline his own PPV and steal all of MM's ppv's and live gate.

If I had a choice to pay for a fight it would be a Canelo Mex Independence Day Fight, not a Mayweather Mexican Independence Day fight! Even monkey mayweather knows that he needs Mexican boxers to help prop up his PPV buys. smh.
            you are a complete idiot.

Great post, people want to make it about something else though. Floyd has the belt, he doesn't want to vacate, he is Canelo's mandatory.

LMFAO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We all know Paul and Margs woulda put the beats on Floyd smh

So Floyd should bend to Canelo's demands? Look I want to see this fight at 154 just like everybody else, but we know Floyd will not take demands from an unproven, 21 year old kid who's never generated a pay per view dollar in his life.

It is a known fact that Floyd is looking @ the 140's to come up and fight him and not just any 140 but the 140's he can beat like, Alexander or Khan. They are next. By the way what happened to those PPV numbers? All we got was a statement that it did over 1mil but no actual numbers. Fact the fight did around the high 800,000. Showtime better get on they're game or they are going to lose big time on Fraudweather
