Comments Thread For: Canelo: I'll Fight Mayweather, But Only at 154-Pounds

During Tuesday's visit to Panama, WBA/WBC junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs) discussed his upcoming plans. Canelo was in Panama to meet with the WBA, as the sanctioning body officially presented him with the world title that he captured last month in his unification bout with Austin Trout. Golden Boy Promotions has been trying to finalize a deal for Canelo to face Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs) on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

SMH @ the WBA. Why wouldn't they order a mandatory fight? You have two ****in world champions. What kind of sense does that make?

Imagine that the supposedly best fighter in the world is scared to fight next best fighter at 154 to proves who the best. History Repeating itself it seems.

154'lb - Mayweather dont want to fight the best at 154 (Canelo)
147'lb - Mayweather dont want to fight the best at 147 (Pacquaio)
140'lb - Mayweather dont want to fight the best at 140 (Hatton, Cotto)
