Wait wait wait a min, stop the press. Alvarez has 42 fight which are, 90% tomato cans we never heard of, 1 over the hill, 1 legit 154 and rest are 135-147. He gets to call the shots? He want Floyd to move up, but want even fight top guys at 154 let alone 160. Are we missing some here? This guy still trying to make fights with 147 fighters and below? What makes you think they were tomato cans?? You never heard of them because their fights were held in Mexico. I would say its a catchweight if floyd had never fought at 154 but considering he has a Belt at 154 and has fought twice in that weight how would that make saul call the shots??? Also if saul fights coto and it does over 1 million buys i guess he will have more leverage for a future fight

If Canelo fights Cotto he should get no credit for it at all. If I'm not mistaken after Mayweather beat Cotto the excuses were Cotto was faded and aged. So how would beating an aged and faded Cotto mean anything when he is coming off losses in last two fights. I don't understand how people would complain about buying a Mayweather fight but have no problem buying a fight with a guy that's aged and faded and coming off back to back losses.

You are right about Canelo and Floyd but at least Canelo has the excuse that he is still 22. Can't say the same for Floyd.

Mayweather should fight him now at 154, I personally think Canelo just isn't ready for Floyd at this moment...he should have at least two more fights before facing Mayweather, the longer Floyd postpones this fight the better it is for Canelo and worse for Floyd. He's a young fighter who's only getting stronger and more experienced as time goes by, can't say the same for Floyd who's getting older and slower...so be smart Floyd and fight him now that he's still green !!

Actually no, the same thing didn't happen to Manny, no not at all. The reactions on this site are in keeping with utter lunacy. I mean some of the stuff that gets written is really breathtaking in its smallness and incivility. It will be a good experience for canelo he would face a solid boxer and good puncher would like to see how that plays out. Money wise it makes more sense you have th pr vs mex rivalry two of the biggest names in boxing fighting. Fighting cotto is the same as floyd fighting guererro competition wise although canelo vs cotto it makes more sense. It will be canelos first ppv and what ither than to have cotto on the opposing side in mexican indendence day. Wouldnt be shocked if it does close to or over 1 million buys
