Again, Floyds words "I don't drain fighters, I am not that type of guy". How can ANYONE see this as not being both CONTRADICTORY and HYPOCRITICAL at the same time??? I don't care either way about Catchweights or even going down in weight, I am talking about Floyd and his fans flipping out about Pac for the same thing and now getting OWNED by Floyds own words, and their words!

There's a difference in making someone fight under the actual weight limit of that division (like Pac did many times) than saying I'll only take this fight at my weight division because it's not worth it for me to come up to yours for this fight.

Its probably because Canelo is the challenger. He fought Oscar at 154 because he challenged Oscar. Same with Cotto. Though Cotto isn't a big 154 which is obvious when he was fighting Trout. He tried to get the Oscar fight at 147 but Oscar refused because Floyd challenged him so he told Floyd that he had to fight at his weight class or not fight at all.

They don't understand that you're wasting your time. Good point though. The fact is Floyd's toughest fights were all fights he moved up in weight to fight the CHAMP at their weight (Castillo, De La Hoya, and Cotto).

Mayweather feels at this point, that he's getting hit too much; Which is why he brought in his father to train him. Therefore, he is leaving his father in charge of his boxing career. Obviously Mayweather Sr. feels that Alvarez is too much of a threat for his son and doesn't want him to risk absorbing any unnecessary punishment, from a man who is naturally heavier and stronger at a higher weight class.

Whether Floyd still has the 154 pound title like the title site shows or not, does not matter, he is still considered a top 154 pound fighter, is ranked as such, and is still the champ, he never lost the title in the ring. So now he won't fight another 154 pound champ at the same division he won two titles in????

Guys, you are just wasting your time arguing with the same Homers. Until Floyd Jr comes out and says he won't fight at 154, you are just adding flies to ****. Floyd does not need Canelo. The Homers think that he does. Floyd has a 6 fight deal. The fight can still be made in that time. So in the mean time Canelo can face Lara, Montirosyan, Kirkland, Angulo, Martinez, or the Molinas of the world.

No, asking a fighter who does not fight at 147 to drop an entire division is worse than asking a fighter to drop part of a division. Simple math. Either neither guy was right asking a fighter to drop weight or both were right but Floyd and his fans set the stage for this hypocrisy by saying he would never drain a fighter or have them fight at a weight they are not comfortable at and that is EXACTLY what he is doing!

well in canelos case he already has to drop an entire class just to fight at 154 thats what i find funny about all this. people want to see floyd lose so bad it blinds them and they think a 25 pound weight difference aint no big deal

Why is every hater talking crap about Floyd jr? He did not say anything HIS DAD DID. Floyd wants to fight fighters at their weigh & it was a bit of a mistake to do it twice and he did not care he did it, his dad & all of us know he did not look great 154lb so his dad now head coach wont let his son do that mistake again and can we blame him? Canelo wont get the credit if he beats Floyd because we all know Floyd dont belong at 154lbs. Don't say Cotto was at 154ld and use that because we all know Cotto don't belong at that weight but for him not wanting to go the extra mile, he fights there and is more comfterble doing it then cutting extra 7lbs. But come on don't say Floyd is this and that because he ain't the one speaking or making desicions yet,

I'm a Floyd fan, I thought it was speculation, but Floyd apparently does want this at 147, and I'm totally against it. I'm all for them meeting at 154 with a rehydration clause, but 147 isn't Canelo's weight, I understand 154 ain't Floyd's weight, but he's got a title in that division. If he vacates the title, it makes sense to drag Canelo down to welter weight, but if you're a champ at 154, you gotta fight the other champ, at 154. Floyd's the A-Side, he calls the shots, but if he want's it at 147, he's gotta vacate that 154 belt. I'm totally against to Jr. Middle Champs fighting at Welter.

So you would be happy if the fight was called off at the last minute because Canelo couldn't stay within the clause? That's not good business, good business it's getting it right in the beginning so a hugs promotion doesn't run the risk of getting canceled.

Anyway Canelo should fight Cotto in Sept in PPV. if he can top or come close to the mayweather vs cotto ppv numbers hell have a lot more negotiating leverage for a fight vs Mayweather.
