Reading the interview, I chalk this up to nothing more than Floyd Sr running his mouth and trying to control his son. Which is why I expect anothing falling out between the soon in the near future.

Either way, Floyd will likely fight Canelo at 54, kick his ass, and be criticized for it afterwards. Same **** different toilet.

its a very obvious Floyd has no guts in fighting a true JR MW like Canelo....He fought Cotto coz Cotto has been in this division a few times and already considered damaged good.Floyd only choose opponent where he got tons of advantages on his side.He also fought a then lightweight Marquez in WW bout and he even didn't abide on the agreed CW....Floyd earns his spot at world no#1 lb for lb fighter for facing fighter he knew he can beat....floyd is not the man on his words....

No, asking a fighter who does not fight at 147 to drop an entire division is worse than asking a fighter to drop part of a division. Simple math. Either neither guy was right asking a fighter to drop weight or both were right but Floyd and his fans set the stage for this hypocrisy by saying he would never drain a fighter or have them fight at a weight they are not comfortable at and that is EXACTLY what he is doing!

If you want to be factual Canelo has fought more fights at 147 than Floyd has fought at 154. It's not like Floyd is asking him to fight at a weight he has never fought at. I'm not saying Canelo should go to 147 if he's not comfortable with it, but he has fought there before. I think people took this whole I want my opponent to be comfortable to the extreme. He did say it no denying that but I'm positive he wasn't talking about fighting a light heavy weight.

Floyd is a superstar coming to the end of his career. Im certain he beats Canelo at any weight but the smart thing to do is utilize your power as an undefeated multidivision champion who just so happens to be the highest paid athlete in the world. Ask Marvin Hagler, you can lose at the negotiating table by allowing bravado into the negotiations. If Canelo had a belt @ 160 a fight @ 54 makes sense but with nothing but hype behind him and nothing more to gain, if he wants the fight this is how it's gonna be.

Its probably because Canelo is the challenger. He fought Oscar at 154 because he challenged Oscar. Same with Cotto. Though Cotto isn't a big 154 which is obvious when he was fighting Trout. He tried to get the Oscar fight at 147 but Oscar refused because Floyd challenged him so he told Floyd that he had to fight at his weight class or not fight at all.
