  • Comments Thread For: Floyd Sr. Confirms: Mayweather-Canelo Must Be at 147!

According to a BoxingScene.com report from Miguel Rivera over the weekend, there appears to be a weight issue that must be worked out before a super fight between Floyd Mayweather and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez can come to fruition.

The WBC and WBA champion at the junior middleweight limit of 154 pounds, Alvarez is coming off of a hard-fought unanimous decision over Austin Trout on April 20th in San Antonio, Texas.

Mayweather (44-0, 26 KO’s) is also coming off of a decision victory of his own, having outclassed Robert Guerrero on May 4th to defend his WBC welterweight title inside of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. [Click Here To Read More]

          I stand corrected.

Not sure where it goes from here, but I will say there is no shame in Floyd not wanting to give up a 25lb weight advantage on fight night.

Nobody would demand this of any other fighter.

Great another 100 pages to come. Still don't see how not fighting a 170 pounder is a duck but the sheep will still flock

He can fight at 154 and have a rehydration clause.

The Racket Squad: The Same Old Blues

Floyd became the higest paid athlete through guile as well as athletic prowess.

At the end of the day he's a one trick phony with some wonderful skills he get's the pleasure of utilizing in this thinner boxing gene pool.

It's the same old song with the theme of taking every advantage as it's lyric and chord of fame.
'Ole Floyd Jr. is one smart cookie but he would have already crumbled had he taken the risks that true greats take.
