I will ,,,I will stand up and SAY

Mayweather JR an excellent boxer in the light weights realized the potential to exploit the public and make tons of money. His path was thru Cherry picking opponents he could easily beat, and to avoid Threats that would """""TEST""""" his B@!!$. That he was successful though he went on many vacations and retirements instead of signing the contract thus allowing any and all elites to beat each other to death and then emerging as VICTOR ? Emerging with a new con, to smile and be nice to con folks into watching his last 5 cherry picked fights and make that extra 300 mill, then claim as he walks into the Hall of fame as the GOAT !!!!

I don't care what he claims but to make claims as he has done and duck major THREATS then he has exploited the fans and boxing in general and the only ones he fools is guys like you, sad mang, really sad.

Those who are up for GOAT will step further, reach out further, eat RISKS not shun them , look for Challenges, not easy pickens, DUCK NO ONE, shun no , one and take on all comer, step up to the plate and swing, and fight anyone.

    • This is the saddest Ive heard, "Floyd didn't dominate at 154 even though he clearly beat Oscar and Cotto". If he wins a good competitive fight, it's a problem. He has to go down and fight at ww so he can dominate and get blow jobs after blow jobs from his fans.

      • IF not 154 or 160 who then ?

There is no one at 147, Pac took care of that while JR had retired or was on vacation.

Will it be little fighters ?

        or

Will he grow some and fight some competition that tests his great skills ?

5 more fights , name the competiton, go ahead I will come back to read it.

If he really wanted to make a statement he'd sucker Sergio in for that 160 belt since I believe Sergio is no more then 2 more fights away from losing it. That age is finally catching up to him.

If he doesnt, I think Quillen or GGG will take it. Not because I think they'd beat him prime for prime, Sergio just seems to have lost his flare.
I absolutely agree. This seems like the perfect educated gamble to gain hid fourth undisputed lineal world championship if he can negotiate a middleweight title shot soon after defeating Alvarez this fall at junior middle. Martinez's middleweight championship is on borrowed time!!

            • He should fight at 154. He's held a belt there b4 there's nobody that can test him at 147 or 140. Floyd is good no doubt about it. But he should be testing his skills with serious opposition nobody wants to see him against khan, Alexander ,or Ortiz.just fight at 154 and prove how good u are.when was the last time floyd fought somebody that was actually a serious threat. I hope Lucas can ko Peterson than take out the hype job Danny Garcia that's a fight I think alotta of us would like. If he's not gonna fight at 154

              • the article is fair... its clear that right now no one can beat him at 147 (he ducked a lot of prime boxers at 147 and waited for them to lose or lose a step) so he should continually test his skills against risky opponents (moving up to 154 if need be) and be paid richly for it. It's clear that Floyd is great, but not legendary... he's no SRL or SRR cause he ducked and avoided the best fighters of his era while they were in their primes and for that, Cherrypicker won't be given a pass when he retires.

                • Before reading anything, I just want to ask: what is wrong with dominating your own weight class? Roy Jones did it for years before moving up. He fought the great Ruiz for a title, however; when asked if he would fight Tyson, he indicated that he'd have to consider his health.

Hopkins dominated his weight class and broke a record for the most consecutive successful title defenses before moving up. Floyd has moved up from 130 to 135 to 140 to 147 to 154. He fought two very competive fights at 154 and won. To say that he have face someone at 154, when Floyd is clearly not his best at 154 does not make sense to me. I think he sucks at 154 to be homest. I wonder who all on this site would fight someone when they are not at their best? Floyd is a 147 pounder who fought two fighters at 154. They were good fights that he could have lost, but to say he needs to fight someone who is going to be at least 20 pounds heavier than him on the night of the fight does not make sense to me. Regardless of if its Floyd or Joe Smo, I don't want to see a fighter fighting someone 20 pounds heavier than his opponent (unless its in the heavies).

With that said, I do think that he should take the Canelo fight. Hopefully they can work something out with the weight. I think Floyd is in the position to make that call just like Oscar did about 6 years ago. I'm thinking a catchweight or same-day weight sort of deal. But Floyd fighting at 154 makes him slower and he does not need to be bigger if he is not going to have any power to go with it. But I do want to see him have Canelo and Pac involved in 2 of his final 5 fights. Maybe Floyd fight at 147 and Canelo fight at 154. Floyd would be at his best and will be able to utilize his speed, while Canelo would be at his best and be able to utilize his power. The weight would be even greater, but at least they would both be at their best weights.
